I have a thing for Mario 2 and not ashamed to say it lol. Not sure why I like Super Mario Bros 2 so much, I never owned it as a kid, always borrowed it from my friend. I feel it may have been the gameplay mechanics of picking up objects and throwing them to defeat enemies. I really liked some of the level design too.

Fantastic list of games there. I grew up with Super Mario World so that is a no brainer for me.
I would have placed Yoshis Island and Super Mario Bros 3 a big higher, but I'm satisfied
