yeah, I know hearthstone is good, but it's still no Smash bros or Bravely default. No question.

No, it is. Considering the rise of the mobile game market, a free, EASY TO GET EVERYTHING game easily slays everything this year. Smash is going to recieve all the awards on consoles, and Once again, Bravely Default is a niche JRPG. Plus, it's Blizzard. I love their games, but the fanbase is more rabid then the Sparrows in aSoIaF in their reverence to Blizzard.

But the fact that the console version will win awards doesn't mean Hearthstone deserves this awards. Nor the fact you have to pay for it, nor whose fanbase is more rabid (and by the way Smash's fanbase is definitely more rabid than blizzards, and has accomplished a lot more on their own) The point of the award is that the best game for that category wins the category. That's it That's supposed to be the only factor. Smash is the better game.

Funny thing is we had this in the mid 90's. Called FMV games. They sucked then as well. Just now these games have better budgets and marketing.

Your taste in games can be. I hate WRPGs but Skyrim, DA, etc are praised like messiahs. It's not best game, it's favourite, so....
