pretty surprised this has not made it onto the forums yet. An AMD head basically said they are working on the architecture for a console to be released in 2016. link here: http://wiiudaily.com...onsole-in-2016/ so obviously with sales and lack of third party you name it  people jumped to the conclusion that this is going to be the Wii U's successor. I personally think if it is Nintendo at all it will be a handheld which also doesnt make since also as the new 3ds has been announced. 2016 is a year away now so i guess what do you guys think?

Console is used loosely with a company. Can be QOL. Could be 4DS could be Fusion and could be Wii U successor but I don't think it will be console. Unless Nintendo really is into flipping tradition around they likely go Intel again for CPU if the next console is just that a console.

 

Doesn't mean it's Nintendo either as we see a lot of stuff classified as a "console" now. Steam Machines which yet to come out. A bunch of Android set top boxes like Ouya and Amazon Fire TV and a host of others. Wii U successor won't be announce til 2017 and released in 2018. 3DS successor 2017. Fusion who knows.

 

Too many possibilities that nothing worth getting excited for as with so many devices and so many claiming to be "gaming: machines people jump to conclusions and then be let down later. Hell could be an answer to Nvidia's Sheild.

just a personal opinion I wouldnt be excited about any new console coming out soon. especially from Nintendo. I want to see samus in hd, f-zero in hd, i need more still.

I'll take it a step further: I want a last-gen system, like PS3.

It has better games than the PS4 and arguably as much to be sensational about as the Wii U. Assuming you haven't played all the games on it.

perhaps the chipset might be ready in 2016, doesn't mean you will actually see any marketed product in that same year. It just doesn't work that way.

Could be handheld or Wii U successor but amd is no surprise, Nintendo has been using them since GameCube.
