^ I think so.
It's great that Nintendo had a great Q and that it had 2 Qs in the black, but it's not good that 3DS sales are falling and that Nintendo has cut it's forecast for the HW and SW.
Also, it's not good that Nintendo probably won't be able to meet it's already low Wii U forecast: with 3 months remaining Nintendo expects to ship about 0.6 million consoles and in 2013 and 2014, it shipped, respectively, 0.39 and 0.31 million consoles.
Again, it's that Nintendo is making money, but it's not good that it's just now turning a profit.
The reason i say this is because the money making console (3DS) is seriously losing steam and Wii U is already in half of it's life cycle.
If Nintendo meets it's new 9m target for the fiscal year, it will mean that despite it's key software titles and HW revisions, Nintendo wasn't able to stop the fall.
In comparison, this is how it compares to GBA (found this on vgchartz.com):
Launch and 1st full year shipments
GBA - 18.16 million
3DS - 17.14 million
2nd year
GBA - 15.65 million
3DS - 13.95 million
3rd year
GBA - 17.59 million
3DS - 12.24 million
4th year
GBA - 15.40 million for full year
3DS - 7.08 million for 9 months - 9 milliion, by forecast expectations
While the GBA managed to peak at it's 3rd year, 3DS peaked in it's first year and from there, it keeps on falling.
Not only is this a sign of lack of diverse software but a sign of the mobile market stealing customers from 3DS in a big way.
But the biggest problem is that Nintendo, unlike in other generations, made it's losses in the best years of it's best selling HW (and SW).
If you add the Wii U to the scenario, you have a situation where the best selling Nintendo franchises on home consoles, except for Zelda, are already out and Nintendo barely took advantage of that. And now, unless Nintendo has a secret weapon, at most, Wii U sales for the next fiscal year will be flat and after that they will really drop because of the lack of games and system sellers - as Nintendo prepares for the next generation.
Whatever years 3DS and Wii U have left, those won't give Nintendo, Nintendo like profits, as Iwata likes to mention, be it because of the lower sales on HW and SW or because of price cuts.
