Speaking specifically about TP, the reason for the delay was pratically the same as the reason for Zelda U's delay.
Have no idea what was the reason given for other Zelda delays.

NX could be a handheld, a home console or even both.
Do i believe that something is launching next year? Yes, i do.
Do i see a big chance of the game being ported to NX? Given TP's case, yes i do.

Do i believe the game was delayed to fit this possible 2016 launch? Given the explanation, it could go either way. We don't really know what Aonuma was talking about.

Let's imagine NX really is a handheld and it's coming next year.
A port of Zelda U to launch the console would be a system seller, for sure. And seeing how Zelda delays seem to be for one year or worse, it's like everything falls in to place for a port of the game for NX.

Overall, what i wanted to say is that it already happened a Zelda game being delayed to make it even better and then seeing it also release on another system.

:D

It's not a crazy thought.

It actually has a lot in common with TP's situation.

Porting TP to Wii was a great decision, Why not do it again with Zelda U if NX is coming next year. IF, being the keyword!

More like exactly what I said because it's fact. Making a trailer or demo they don't have time for. I rather not get into specifics like a 3Dude post and have a war and peace sized post but it really takes a lot of time and extra effort they just don't have right now.

It will be for Wii U and only Wii U on release.

It's worth noting that Aonuma didn't confirm a 2016 release date for the new Zelda.

Well, what you said isn't actually fact. Seeing as you -

1). don't work for Nintendo
2). don't have access to Aonuma
3). don't know what's involved in putting together an E3 demo

- you're really just speculating like the rest of us.

No the fact was demo's take a lot of work and so do trailers and extra time a developer team does not have. That's the fact. The speculation is to why but the fact is those statements are true and the only thing out  of all the NX bullcrap that makes any sense

More like a sound business decision as historical precedent suggests.

For other companies who treat the demo as a completely separate production from the game, sure. But this is Nintendo. They themselves said that what they showed was the actual game. I wouldn't be surprised if they use the demo script for debugging the game.

Come to think about it, that sounds like common sense. Something you don't get when you hire a video production studio and let them "improve" the graphical assets. I believe we all know who I'm talking about, even if you don't remember the name of the game.

You missed the point. You also don't understand what they said. What they showed was in game a demo build for E3 IS the game but it's a piece of the game. It's like taking a slice from the pie. The cut a slice out of the game but instead of a piece missing they cut the slice like you would copy and paste a link but much more technical than that. They polish off the edges. They select a section of the game or code they want to show public. They copy that section and set it aside ready to either show or be able to play at E3. Then they make sure it works with no real glitches or issues which is tricky for an unfinished game. They give it a begining and end like an actual game so in a sense it's a mini game..not in the Mario Party way tho.

When they said in game they were clarifying to people who thought it was CGI and they were just confirming it was actual gameplay.

It can take months to build no matter who is the developer is as that's just how it works. For example Max Payne 3 which my friend worked on while the final game could fit on a disc the development took several terrabytes of data. He also did trailers for the game as well as others. It wasn't just open up a video editor and slap it together in a couple hours. It was months. The trailer required you so manipulate the game that only a dev can. You get the shots you want but make sure there is no graphical issues and any other issues visually.

Anygame you see at E3 or any event shown off not yet released it a a couple month old build of th game at best. Sometimes older. To make a trailer you have some people for that or need to set some current team aside. A playable demo build needs a team to just work on that demo build for E3.

I think you guys are forgetting one important difference between this and Twilight Princess: there was already an original Zelda game out for the Gamecube at that point (in fact there were two). Wind Waker HD is a remake and I'm 96.8% sure that they aren't counting Hyrule Warriors as this console's premier Zelda game.

Ryudo makes very valid points imo. If you look at Splatoon, for the past year the demo has been the same one since last e3. That is, the demo available for people to try out at cons/conventions. Sure, they could of offered a new build but the time it takes to do that would detract from their development time.

Or look at XCX they showed it at E3 last year 40 min of it but since then we were shown visually been improved a big deal. Even an entire mountain range.

It's true that 2016 was never confirmed, but seeing how the game would arrive later this year and the delay still happened. I think it's safe to say it's really delayed to 2016.

My guess is that if they were confident on them being able to get the game out in time of BF or Christmas, then no video would have been shown.

If past Zeldas are any indication, then the game really is being delayed... and by a long time!

Personally, i think that if the game isn't out, at least, until 2016's 2Q, then you can bet they will save it for Christmas 2016- thus increasing the chances of being ported to whatever NX is.

Not having a demo is not really the problem. It's the fact that the game won't even make an appearance at E3. Not even a video like the one showed at TGS in December.
That can't take that much time to put together... which makes me believe that the change will be relevant and not superficial - leading to a big delay instead of a small delay of a few months.
