It's been bugging me for awhile & mabye some of you know but 2011 marks Metroid's 25th birthday. Zelda got 2 games & 2 more announced, Tech demo, chorus & concerts. What did Metroid get? nothing. I think Nintendo hates Metroid since they aren't really known for making many games like it & it doesn't sell too well. Mabye nintendo doesn't give A crap about Metroid since I haven't heard from it since the horrible Other M. it probably isn't A big deal to most of but think of it like this, what if your favorite series was dropped for more A more favorable CoD Mw4

Maybe Nintendo determined that there aren't enough people that like the Metroid series for them to make a big deal about it. Who knows what they are thinking.

Nah, most Metroid games sold poorly, if they hated Metroid they would have droped it already.

i swear one of the metroid games on wii sold over 1 million recently, the reason theyre not fussing over the anniversary i think is cos they dont want to seem like the kind of company that uses any excuse for hype, zelda got lots of hype but people would judge nintendo if they did it for every franchise, maybe they will do something for its 30th, i dunno, but i dont think they hate it, i also dont think it would be practical to do much for metroids anniversary

Why would Nintendo hate any of their franchises? That doesn't really make much sense. I think the main reason why they didn't hold a Metriod 25th anniversary last year was so the focus on the Legend of Zelda series wouldn't wane.

This is what I believe too. They probably didn't want the the two anniversaries to clash with each other. My personal theory is that they may have plans for the series that might be related to the Wii U. Why I say this is because a game like Metroid can really show that Nintendo mean business when they want to broaden there appeal.

Yeah, you've done a great job so far, letting the Metal Heads destroy the palace.

These are my beliefs as well. Perhaps they have a 26th anniversary celebration in the works. :D

Dude it's Nintendo. If they started celebrating thier franchise then every year there would be concerts and parties lol.Plus they love metroid since metroid in it;s old days never got sold but they kept giving Samus one more mission to prove herself but still it never sold well.Yet they still gave it a last hope when most people had forgotten about her and gave it to Retro which then brought it back to life.
I am sure they have plans for metroid since the wii U is coming up the Metroid franchise is the perfect franchise as a hardcore first party title that Nintendo is trying to show..so who knows

I think that the idea is just nuts. If they really didnt like Metroid then why do they still make Metroid posters? I just think it is because of it's small fan base. Also I think another reason is that the games havent sold too well.
