That would be awesome if it meant they played on the WiiU controller, because those old VGA games would look good on it whereas they look dreadful on a HDTV.

I would certainly be happy to buy Starfox Adventures again if I could play it on a screen it actually looks good on. Although the question is, can you still output the sound from your 5.1 surround setup when playing on the WiiU controller? There is no technical reason not to, but Nintendo seem to like to make our minds up for us rather than giving us options.

I don't think that was Wii Sports or WiiU Sports, it was probably just a tech demo. Though Nintendo might as well make it a game and bundle for free with the console like Wii and Wii Sports

I agree. It would be nice if you could stream older games from the Virtual Console to your controller since you only need one screen anyway.

Yeah, Wii U is not bc with gamecube it's been confirmed. However, it's likely that GC games will at some point be on the Wii U's virtual console so it doesn't really matter. If anything it will be an improvement not having to use the gamecube's horrible controller.

Sir, I must inform you of your wrongness. It is the best gamepad ever.
I wonder if I can still use the GC controller. There are some Wii games I refuse to play without it.

The real problem isn't that we can't use it to play Gamecube games, it's that there are a ton of Wii games that supported the GC controller. Have fun playing Brawl with Wii Remotes.

Now see why it's so stupid to support only one new controller? Let's see them figure out a new Smash with that limitation. I would be pretty annoyed to have to buy a bunch of classic controller pros, given that I like the GC pad better anyway.
