It's a Dutch article, but it basically says that Assassin's Creed III will be released on October 31st on Wii U. This info came from a press message from Ubisoft Netherlands. Might be an interesting fact, since it could be a confirmation that the console will at least be out by October 31st.

Ubisoft Netherlands sends an interesting press release.
Recently there appeared a marketing press release from Ubisoft Netherlands containing the proud announcement that Assassin's Creed III, a particular relatively pre-order record has been broken: from the moment the game is announced, the game ten times more than pre-ordered Assassin's Creed Revelations in the same period. At first glance, a meaningless publication fisherman, but in the last sentence we see suddenly the message back that the Wii U-version of the game since October 31, 2012 is available. It is not yet known whether this is a typographical error or an unintentional misinterpretation of Ubisoft Netherlands. In previous releases, the company reported after the release date of the Wii U-section was not yet known. If the press release would completely correct, this would mean that the Wii you in any case on or before October 31, 2012 would be available, which great news. We Ubisoft Netherlands asked for a more detailed explanation and will post update when we know more. Ubisoft ® announced today that Assassin's Creed ® III well on its way to the record breaking game with the most pre-orders in the History of Ubisoft North America. In the three weeks that Assassin's Creed III is available as a pre-order the game has already made history. The game already has more pre-orders than all the preceding parts of the Assassin's Creed series. Thus, Assassin's Creed III now even 10 times more pre-orders in the United States than Assassin's Creed Revelations in the same period. He has more pre-orders than Assassin's Creed Brotherhood in the entire period in which the game was pre-ordering. If the pre-orders for Assassin's Creed III keep going, going around the E3 in June, the current pre-order record of Assassin's Creed Brotherhood broken. "In the Benelux we see at this early stage that the fans their pre-orders already places. And this while the pre-order campaign next week only really starts! "Said Marcel Keij, Marketing Director at Ubisoft Benelux. In the Netherlands, the pre-order this week has started and here it seems that records will be broken. Assassin's Creed III is available as from October 31 on Xbox 360 ®, PlayStation ® 3, Wii ™ and PC You . The game is developed by the highly experienced team of Assassin's Creed Ubisoft Montreal with the support of other Ubisoft studios.

I also think it's just a placeholder date, since I didn't hear from a developer that knows Wii U's releasedate, but it's still interesting.
