I wonder how gameplay capture will work with the wii u. does anyone know if a normal ps360 capture card will work with wii u, and do you think it will capture the controller screen as well as TV or just TV?

Cos i would really like to make a youtube channel dedicated to wii u gameplays when the sytem launches, i think its a great opportunity to make a unique channel as it will be a new thing in the beginning

Well, I guess there'd be no need to capture the controller for most third party games. Nintendo's probably gonna do some fancy stuff with it in their games though, so I worry about how a Let's Play of Mario Wii U would work...

Also, the Wii U channel sounds like an awesome idea. I'll sub if you end up making it. ^_^

Thanks i will let you know if i make it :D you know though, im sure some third parties will do cool stuff, like the batman team has apparently done some cool stuff. we've all seen the awesomeness of killer freaks and ghost recon online, and it sounds like the darksiders 2 devs have used it well too :) but ur right im sure nintendo will use it best of all

There are many companies that make devises to capture game play, and I think at least one of them will be able to capture the TV screen and Wii U controller screen on individual videos, then you can edit the videos together to your liking. I do like Ghost Recon Online since on the controller screen it shows a 3D map that you can move around.

Probably through a capture card, unless there is some fancy way to record from the controller....hint, hint, Nintendo. :)

You'll need to point a camera at the controller, but the TV content will work as usual.
Unless you get a devkit of course.

As long as the WiiU can output HD by component then you can use the HD PVR and black magic intensity to record the footage going to the tv.

Its highly likely that the HDMI port will be HDCP compliant, there is a way to remove it, you can always do a search on YouTube with ps3 HDMI intensity pro. Can't talk much since apparently its illegal to talk about methods of removing copyright protection. So it is also possible to use the black magic intensity's HDMI ports.

For recording the controller, unless they happen to have a video output on tha thing the the only way would be to get a camera and just record the screen (preferably on a tripod)
