Yup! Here we go again. LOL.

So this time the claim coming from neoGAF is that a developer said in response to the possibility that UE4 may not come to Wii U: "Watch man, people are going to be blown away by the Wii U news.". This would be amazing if it's true but I remain skeptical.

Wow, that that would be awesome. For the time being though, I will not take anything as a fact unless it is from a named developer.

if thats true, samaritan quality graphics... is unreal engine 3.9... So Wii U can do even better than that. Its fair enough, and very good. The only point that sounds strange to be in his statement, that Nintendo didnt changed the gpu chipset, but tweaked it instead with new technologies. That sounds a bit strange, as the raw power of a GPU is the rops and shaders, I assume samaritan demo for a console needs up to 1.2 TFLOP and about 640-700 shaders (minus 50% from what a PC needs).. What about UE4? I am going to be happy if wii U can run unreal engine 3,9 flawless at 40-60fps at 1080p...

But there is lots of rumors that nintendo DID change the chipset to something smaller than 45mm, not because of UE4, but because of heat and power consumption. Only 24 days to go for E3 though, we will know for sure, there and after. I believe, if ue4 is up and running on wii U, we will have amazing demos at E3.. You agree with that?

Interesting. I think it will run a downgraded but almost equal version.

well since iwata said nintendo will be prioritising core instead of mass market gamers first, this seems to make perfect sense. the first next gen system better be the one to show off the first next gen engine

This is related to the same info I posted yesterday in the other UE4 thread.

Definitely good news. Can't wait for E3. That said, I'm still not getting overhyped so I can be pleasantly surprised by any official announcements.

we're going to look back a year later and laugh at how optomistic we were, I think we should take this with a real big pinch of salt..

Honestly, i expected this. Didn't Epic say a couple months ago we will be surprised by what the Wii U can do? They didn't mention UE4 specifically, but why would they be impressed if it can't run their baby?

I could be wrong, but I don't remember developers saying the Wii will be a powerhouse. I remember rumors that Nintendo had two different specs, one powerful and one a slight improvement over the Gcn. We all had high hopes, yes, but we weren't lead that way from Nintendo execs and other developers.

At least not that I remember.
