It is totally justified to fire him. He broke the non-disclosure agreement. It's his own fault.

What Rainbow dash said. I hear he had a wife and kids, which makes it really sad, but he did break the company's rules.

This also confirms that the picture is real.

Maybe the guy was simply sick of his job and decided to go out with a bang?

I'd lol if that was true. I'd totally do it.

Trophy Cards are classy too! LOLZIGZAGOON

I definitely agree that firing him is appropriate. It's not like it takes effort to not upload a picture to the internet. It would be nice to know exactly what happened so that we can excessively judge this man properly. I really have to wonder why he did upload the picture.

Haha! I would do this, but on a much bigger scale...

i agree he should have been fired but taken to court just seems a little unnecessary.

had this been the same situation but with companies like sony or activision everybody would be losing their damn minds right about now.

He didn't to anything to drastic. Yes he released a controller pic and he got fired... Now just imagine if he released specs and impressive features, this guy would be dead

I agree that it was fair for him to be fired, even he should definitely have know what the repercussion of his actions were, when he leaked such info.

Nintendo better hopes he didn't take any other pics, he could ruin it for Nintendo just a bit more now...

i dont know the situation well enough to judge, it could be much more complicated than it appears on the outside. however, the chances are that it really is as simple as it looks :P in that case, i would say its fair

Definitely appropriate. He exposed a company secret that he probably had to sign an agreement on to not reveal it to the public.
I respect him though for showing it to us all. :)

I think it was fair to fire him because he was not suspose to take an image on the wii u controller and post it online because it must have been saved for an E3 reveal. But my blessing go out to his family and I hope he can find a new job and hopefully this time he won't leak any info.

As much as I enjoyed seeing the new controller design, I understand his getting fired because of his breach of the NDA.
I believe Nintendo will make an example out of him to ensure no more major leaks are made by any developer before E3.
On the plus side, his getting fired kind of confirms that this is the true redesign and not just an old design as some have stated.

With Rayman and the controller redesign now leaked, hopefully this means Nintendo will focus more conference time on discussing Wii U features and games that we don't yet know about. :)

how i would of done it:
(post on a known forum without much crap links, USE AN ONION ROUTER TO BLOCK IP TRACING)
hey guys, i am an employee at (put a company i do not want finding out about me posting this here) and i can in fact confirm analog sticks on the wii-u controller that are placed simmilar but slightly closer to the top left and right (which makes me feel my kids cant reach the controller very well) of the controller in replacement of sliders. now i would be taking a picture but i actually have a job at hand, there might be secret security camera's or other things i would not want to know about if i tried to take a picture, so i hope you take my word for fact, there are also a few other changes to the controller but it would be crazy if i just told everybody everything before e3, so have fun with this tidbit, until then, see everyone at e3!

because, you know, you usually dont want to take a picture unless you have an incognito tie camera, you look normal, and you blank out everything but the controller, and even that would'nt secure total safety of your job, sheesh
