[Reaper Pin]

So I'm gonna have a PS3 in a few months/weeks and I wanted to ask some of you PS3 owners some advice. What is a really great PS3 game? (I'm mostly into Japanese stuff, and I heard PS3 has a pretty damn good library, but anyway, I like some games like inFamous and Uncharted)
Anyway I have considered some-
Final Fantasy XIII-2
GoW III
DmC

Uncharted is a definite if you're going to play PS3. Japanese games? Maybe Metal Gear Solid 4. But I've never even played it.

Uncharted for sure. Final Fantasy XIII before XIII-2 unless you have played it before. God of War III is great if you played the first two. Tales of Graces F, Valkryia Chronicles, and Heavy Rain are recommendations of mine. Metal Gear Solid is also great.

Down the exclusives path, Uncharted and Resistance are always solid. You'll probably want the latest version of both (being number 3) for it's up to date multiplayer. LittleBigPlanet, God of War and Fallout 3 also falls in this category

Several HD Classics mean having lots of games bundled, cheap, and with quite the boost to your trophy collection. Jak and Daxter, ICO/Shadow of the Colossus, Tomb Raider, Devil May Cry, Splinter Cell, Silent Hill and God of War all have these, as well as Resident Evil Code Veronica/Resident Evil 4 on the Playstation Store, and Ratchet and Clank trilogy sometime soon, if not already.

Assassin's Creed, Borderlands, Final Fantasy, Portal 2, Prototype, UMvC3, Red Dead Redemption, Batman Arkham, Mass Effect, Bioshock and Vanquish if you haven't played them.

If you really like Uncharted then you will probably like The Last of Us (It's not out yet though). The new Tomb Raider (it's not out yet) also looks promising imo.

Yes, Yakuza Dead Souls is in western stores now. I've heard from a friend that it's a major improvement over previous Yakuza titles.

as far as im concerned, there is little japanese title available on the ps3, in english at least... some japanese titles are even influenced by the western style.. so, hard to recommend anything..

so i'll just recommend games from japanese companies, that i think worth of playing instead:

1. dragon dogma (nice game, kinda western influenced, i recommend you watch the gameplay videos first)
2. demon soul and dark soul (hard as hell, also kinda western influenced)
3. ninja gaiden sigma
