So by that definition if Ubisoft half develops AC IV, then that game is shovelware. Same for GTA V or any of the big named games.

no thats different. im talking a product built from the ground up, rushed and it shows in every facet of the game. it pisses me off more than anything that nintendo signs off on these games. doesnt nintendo have to sign off on every game that is released for their consoles?????

I still think the term shovelware is overused. People complain about Barbie games but what are some girls suppose to play. I still say they are just inexpensive games with limited development time.

Girls that are interested in Barbie are supposed to play shovelware.

This statement is false. The previous statement is true.

RIP in peace Nintendo.

It's not shovelware to them. To them its the same as Zelda, Uncharted, and Halo... It is not shovelware. We don't know how much time it took to develop the game or how much thought it was put into it. If it is a game that you don't like, it doesn't mean it's shovelware. Those same girls may play Zelda, Uncharted, or Halo. My wife loves to play Silent Hill and Resident Evil games but she will play Barbie or Toy Story or any game that she thinks she will like.

Nothing says people can't like shovelware, but them liking it wont change the fact that it is shovelware; the other games that they play is also irrelevant. I wouldn't say the amount of thought and the development time are what defines shovelware, I think it's more about the simplicity of the game design and its target market; which is most often the casual market.

There have always been shovelware in the video game history. The casual market talk started this generation. Would that mean BattleToads or TMNT in the NES days are shovelware. Does that mean any movie type game is shovelware. Is Tetris shovelware. Simplicity in the game design can't be all that it is. Shovelware is a very opinionated term. People who don't like the FPS genre consider them shovelware. It will always depend on the person who thinks it is.

Shovelware (sometimes also crapware or garbageware) is a derogatory computer jargon term that refers to software noted more for the quantity of what is included than for the quality or usefulness. The term is also used to refer to software that is ported from one computer platform or storage medium to another with little thought given to adapting it for use on the destination platform or medium, resulting in poor quality. The term is also sometimes used to refer to pre-installed software.[1]

ummmmmmmmmmmm, does anyone see the magic in this graph, i have not taken statistics anywhere in my life and its obvious that they are comparing sales to months instead of sales per console which should be more accurate

if this is what the chart is representing, then it is biased because wii sales:95.85 million xbox360 sales:65.8 and ps3:a small percent im too lazy to find, so if you wanted this to be a graph of sales per console than you could devide the sales as a percent and regraph,

you then get the point that per console, xbox360 sells 3rd party more, and although people hate to admit it, the wii did not do well with masses of AAA 3rd party games, and even throughout the years you will have to admit the wiiu will sell less 3rd parties not due to power problems but because people will use their 3rd party games money on 1st party

kill me if im wrong somewhere, these graphs are not marking anything but a general statement
