I mean, this would be wicked awesome. I found this site that claims it is some leaked screenshot (they have a picture too: http://myleisure-cor...is-metroid.html ) but I think the high quality one was just a mockup by a NeoGAF member.

And then there is this rumor that MP4 was not shown at E3 because of reasons. Do you believe it?

Seeing that mock-up screenshot really makes me realize I want a new Metroid Prime. It could be so amazing, just like the first one was, if this will really be Retro's 'most ambitious project' ever. And it would make the Wii U instant buy for me. How about you guys?

Metroid prime games are awesome. I agree that this is the best bet for a game "everyone wants" I think that the gamepad has so much potential for awesome puzzles. I just can't see them saying the most ambitious game about something like donkeykong or even starfox. Metroid is by far the most potential for big sales, wicked graphics, & great use of the new gamepad.

And golly gee. Those pics almost look legit... We'll see I guess.

Yep I think so too... After other m received less than stellar reviews, even though it was amazing, everyone wants them to return to metroid

I must say, though, that I think NST is making this (Nintendo's other US studio). Retro didn't seem to want to make another Metroid, and I'm a firm believer that they're making an awesome new IP.

Metroid Prime 4 will most likely be the Metroid game on Wii U. Retro is doing Starfox not Metroid. And 1 reason according to Iwata that they didnt mention their main games at E3 meaning Metroid, Kirby, Donkey Kong and such was that they dont want Sony and Microsoft copying them and making their own version in a years time.

After saying "it's a game everyone wants us to do" they also said "it's gonna be a big surprise". I'm quite sure it wouldn't be Metroid, but that's just me. My bet is that it's a StarFox game in a kind of open space. Maybe not only a space shooter but it would allow you to play as third person or whatever, but I'm only thinking out loud...

Honestly, I want another first-person-perspective Metroid, but I don't think it should be titled Prime 4. The Prime series is long since finished, and going back to it would just feel rather unnecessary and convoluted.

Maybe the ideas for Metroid Dread could be revived.. With that name it could have a very heavy focus on horror and survival or something. A horror-based Metroid, now THAT would definitely be interesting.

I dont agree with that decision either. But Nintendo is revel in the beautiful sunshineed off and sick Microsoft and Sony copying them. Its only flattering for so long before it gets irritating. Of course the newest copies are Playstation All Stars Battle Royal (Frick thats a long name) from Sony. And a year after Wii U was announced at E3 2011 Microsoft gets a patent for a tablet controller AND Smartglass which is the same type of idea the Wii U is doing...Its just so pathetic I can understand Iwata being revel in the beautiful sunshineed off at them.

Yeah thats true i can see how he would be annoyed, It just goes to show how Nintendo is by far the best, PS Allstars looked like total garbage, as did Smartglass, they'll both bomb and the Wii U will flourish

Oh my God, YES. That would rock.

I wouldn't mind another game called Prime [something], Hunters for example didn't have anything to do with the other Primes. The Prime title is familiar to a lot of people, so it could be strategic. They could also make it more mainstream and make it more like a shooter instead of an action adventure game, but that would revel in the beautiful sunshine off a lot of fans. Kind of making it Nintendo's Halo/COD..

Do you remember one of the MOM trailers? It featured a third person perspective in a dark area.. I had the hope they were doing some horror parts (they didn't tho) and I still think it would be freaking awesome. Kind of like Dead Space you know? That would be sick.

At the same time we now know that some developer out there is using crytek 3 to develop a wii u game. is it impossible that retro would be that developer? that'd be pretty awesome.
