and at 1:27 she says that ALL Wii U titles will support free tv mode witch makes it were you can play without a tv

so did she just mess up or has that always been announced that all Wii U titles will be able to use free tv mode because I thought it was just some

This was being discussed in another topic, but it seems nothing is set in stone..everyone has been vague when they say "all games", its always referenced when people are testing the games out..so it can mean..ALL...or all those games..we will have to wait and see I guess

I would be surprised it a game didn't support that, but I can see how it could happen. I really hope devs try and support this feature, because it is one of my most looked forward to features.

for any game thats sensible to have this option, i think would have it
theres some obvious types of games that i could think of that would not work with this controller feature, so it definitely is not going to happen for all games

generally i think the devs are either required or given incentive for these features, for example, a game with the controller screen feature and is sensible with it will get more of a cut from nintendo than without

A game like ZombiU wouldn't work nearly as well if it went to use free tv mode.

^ True. Understand that the mechanics of ZombiU are based around the dual screen gameplay. It would never work on a single screen.

Nintendo Land is another example. How can you throw a shuriken when you don't even know where you are supposed to be shooting.

Whoever said what it was, they either made a mistake or referred specifically to the show floor games.

Nintendo said that developers aren't forced to use anything, so that means it's totally 100% up to the developer to choose to use the feature or not. which means she can't possibly speak for other developers than her own team. she probably meant all the games on the show floor at the EA summer showcase.

She said ability, that means they can if they want.
That might be a simple plugin the menu has that the programmers don't have to do much or anything to use, or they might have to choose to allow it.
Either way she didn't say they never had the choice.

I would love to see every game support the off TV play feature but yes their are some games such as ZombiU were it won't work that well but by far the off TV play feature is my most favourite feature for the Wii U because it is annoying when i play a game but then someone wants to watch so i have to stop playing my game but now with the Wii U this won't happen that much anymore well until the battery runs out anyway.But I gotta tell you the off TV play feature is a system seller for both causal and Core Gamers.

It's pretty simple.

You select the gamepad and wii U turns off streaming video to tv and streams that days to gamepad instead.

Not difficult.

And she said all Nintendo wii u titles. Not all ea wii u titles.

I would like ALMOST every game on the Wii U to have that no TV mode and if all the game support that then that would be awesome! But how would this work with games that use the Gamepad a lot?

Revert to control scheme B.

Done.

Switching to gamepad is simply to allow play when the preferred big screen is not available. So there would be an obvious concession there. Therefore, there would be a concession in control scheme as well. So you'd be lacking the spectacular wii u experience while playing on the pad, but you'd still have a great experience and the same experience competing consoles do and will provide.

By wanting "almost" every game to be available on gamepad only, you automatically doom some to not be playable at all when the tv is otherwise occupied.

Hmmm... still see this as a backfire, and I still see this as something that isn't set in stone.

I do not believe all games should be TV-Free playable.
