Yeah the newer Wiis don't support GameCube games, controllers, etc. But the Wii U may have GC games on virtual console eventually?

All right, but if not, a used Gamecube is super cheap anyway, so a Wii U to play Wii U, Wii and VC games, plus a GC to play Gamecube games... if you're into that sort of stuff, that is.

Bob-OMB and everyone else......appreciate all the feedback......I just couldn't resist myself....it's a boringmsaturdya afternoon.....the girlfriend is taking a teaching certification test...i gave in to gamestops dictatorship demands lol.....I went ahead and traded in the ps3 for 130 and got wii bundle with super mario, and super Mario galaxy.....it is the black wii tho....with the new motion plus controls....so it's pretty legit...overall I could have ended up taking the 90 leftover trade in bonus after getting a wiimote and chuck, and spent it on games and controllers BUT.....that's not as fun lol....c'mon all gamers know that Shiny new feeling....I was bored.....grew up with 64, been away from Nintendo for a while with a 360 and a ps3..... So whatever I went for it lol....just fired it up....I feel like a kid again....got some pizza on the way......gonna be a solid day lol....

In the end....like I said I'm 25 and I Teach for a living...the 90 bucks isn't gonna make or break me.....still gonna go ahead and get the games I want and the pro controller etc on launch day.....but now I got my hands on a nice shiny new black wiimote and enough new Mario content for quite some time lol.....thanks all.......

If anything, you could hook the Wii up to a second TV in a different room when you get the Wii U. Your house will be completely Wiified.

Anyway, if you're a game and console collector, then get the Wii. If not, don't.

O_O Yeah it started with that red Wii bundle with Mario iirc, the ones that lay on their side? It reduced manufacturing costs which is why they were able to sell them cheaper.

no because most of the games require motion controlls for nintendo land

I havent red any other comments because i absolutly love the post! Its a proper nintendo fans questition and my answer is (after a bit ot thinking) wii mote! Im not really a fps shooter guy as if i play cod or mw with my mates on a ps3 or xbox i just cant use analog sticks well enough to be good at the game. How ever i bought mw3 on the wii and using the wii mote seemed a lot more natural. Sure the graphics went as good (although i thought they were amazing for wii) but i loved it more because of the controls. I invited my mates round and i (at risk of being laughed at) put mw3 on and at first, all they said was "this looks crap" but when every body got used to the controls we sat up til 3am playing on line like we wud do at there place playing it on ps3! !! Anyway the end we all agreed that itwas fun but as motion plus wasnt utalised it was good but not acurate enough. I hope black ops 2 has motion plus support as if it did then nintendo wud instantly have 4 new customers in my friends!

Im still waiting for confirmation that black ops 2 uses motion plus. If it doesnt then nintendo should have the devs executed for loss of buisness as the wii mote should be the controler of choice and as my ps3 gay boy mates (lol joke boys) like using it but but want that extra accuracy and rightly so.

Darksiders 2 uses wii u pro controller and wii u gamepad

 

Assassin creed wii u pro controller and wii u gamepad, microphone, gaming headphones.

 

NSMBU wii u gamepad, multiplayer mode 2nd player uses  wii remote/ plus

 

Ninja Gaiden uses wii u pro controller or wii u gamepad

 

Nintendo land in multiplayer mode wii remote/ plus, or wii remote/ plus and nunchunk,

 

tekken in multiplayer mode wii remote/ plus, or classic controller/pro, or wii u pro controller

I mainly got the Wii U Pro Controller for when Smash 4 comes out, it's also good for Tekken & Sonic Racing.

Wii U pro controller is only half price in PC world at €29.99 while other stores still sell it at €49.99,

Wii mote/plus and then add ur wii Classic Controller Pro/ Classic Controller and ive 3 Classic Controller Pro, Black, Red and Gold

 

 

I also ive Wii mote and Golden Wii mote plus

 

im waiting for september for wii u play to get a free Wii mote plus with it like previous wii play game had it to have free Wii mote
