I didn’t see anything about Nintendo’s announcement that said ‘Oh, we’d better get working on rolling out a new PlayStation here pretty soon.’ Our attitude is kind of ‘welcome to the party.’ If you’re looking at being a multimedia entertainment device, if you’re looking at high def gaming, that was 2006 for us.

Now, don't call me a fanboy, because I own both a PS3 and PSP, but how about PlayStation Move, Mr. Tretton? If you're talking motion control, wasn't that 2006 for Nintendo, too? Wasn't touch screen gaming (featured on Vita) 2004 for Nintendo, too? How about portable systems? Wasn't that 1980 for Nintendo? Haters gonna hate, really. This guy is really an idiot. It makes me ashamed to say I own a PS3 when I hear this guy running his mouth and that the only way to comfort himself and promote his company is to dismiss one which actually has had success this generation, by that I mean, you know, turned a profit on its video game console.

Sure, Nintendo's late to 'the HD party', but, in a certain sense, Sony should have respect for its 'elders'. Nintendo's been part of this business since 1985. Sony came along like ten years later after WORKING with Nintendo in the first place. Welcome to the party? I think that this is honestly the first time Sony can tell Nintendo that about ANYTHING. I love the PlayStation brand, but I have to say that I hate its bigwigs.

Anyway, what do you think about Tretton's comments? S

Very well said Crimson. It's comments like that from people at Sony that really annoy me, they insult their competition and then end up using the same ideas themselves; talk about hypocritical. Sure, they're competition and they're trying to talk their products up while talking down their competition but Sony seems to do it much more so than MS or Nintendo which just makes them come across as assholes. I'm not really a Sony fan myself (though i do own a PS1 and PS2), i prefer Microsoft and Nintendo plus i'm into PC gaming too.

This statement is false. The previous statement is true.

RIP in peace Nintendo.

Oh man, don't tempt me to go hating on Sony... the 12 steps have been going so well.

Honestly, though, it seems that this interview has been getting pretty universally negative press, as opposed to the interview with Shuhei Yoshida about the PSV, which impressed me with its earnestness, its positive tone, its concerted avoidance of pot shots, etc. Genuine excitement about innovation and possibilities always makes for a better interview than hip-fired, juvenile bravado.

I hate how this guy always insult nintendo and at times microsoft. I don't want to think about this guy when i play games from naughty dog ,sucker punchn and other sony studios. I love those studios and i don't want this guy to give them a negative image.

Reggie Fils-Aime vs. Jack Tretton.
The winner is pretty obvious, his body is ALWAYS ready...

Given that not only Sony essentially copied the Wii-mote's design with the Move, they are also planning on making the PS4 less powerful to cut costs and market the system to girls. This all makes Jack Tretton's trash-talk ineffectual.

It seems Sony never shuts up. They should be bashing Microsoft because they are Sony's closest competition.

I hate Sony as a company. But I do enjoy a lot of their games :D

I'm not sure why every one of their representatives has to speak their mouth about their certain vendetta against Nintendo every chance they get, but it's very bad mannered.

I think Nintendo says it best when they say that they are not concerned about what the other consoles are doing. They want to concentrate on what Nintendo wants to do. It just seem like Tretton wants to show confidence and just did it in a bad PR way. I think he needs to spend more time with the person in charge of PR for Sony.

I think you pretty much said it. Nintendo wasn't all like welcome to the party when Sony finally got motion control. I don't even read anything by Jack because I know it's just going to make me sigh. It reminds me of that time when he said no self respecting 21 year old who play the DS on the train. And this guy runs a company?

I have nothing against competitive sales.

What I do hate is that people could probably say something mean to their competitors, and think they can walk away with a smile on their ugly faces.

Trophy Cards are classy too! LOLZIGZAGOON
