I will pre order it at Gamestop once I have all the money on the games I want to get this year and some for next year, which will be around December maybe January. I will be getting it on day regardless of what the launch titles are.

I'm not pre-ordering one at the moment for several reasons:
-There's been no confirmed release dates or prices.
-We still don't know that much about the console.
-I don't know what games will be available for it at launch.

I have learned with the 3DS that I am not preordering at ALL. Instead I will buy when a game comes out.

I'll probably pre-order once we get details on the actual price and launch titles. If the launch titles are good, I will.
Until then, I'll be saving up about $600 just in case they decide to pull a Sony.

In the uk the launch price of 3DS was upto £230 and only a month or so later due to low sales the lowest price was £150. Prices seem to have recovered a bit due to Ocarina of Time. Nintendo don't have a brilliant track record in europe. They priced the N64 at £250 despite the usa price being something like $200. Within a few months the N64 was at £99. The gamecube was priced at a brilliant £129 price point but it still didn't sell well at launch. The Wii and DS series have done very well to launch at high prices and maintain those prices though but the 3DS didn't repeat that success and its possible the Wii U won't either. Its quite possible the Wii U will launch at £300 in the UK and still only be the same relative power as the 360 which has massive software support and is available for about £150 now with a 250GB hard drive. I wouldn't pre-order in the UK as its quite possible the Wii U will have a poor launch and drop in price shortly afterwards. I'm sort of expecting it to launch at £299 completely fail to sell especially as its going to be another May type launch and then quickly drop to £200. If it really fails it could be £150 or even £99 by christmas.

Its all down to specification really. I don't think people are going to spend more on Wii U if its sub xbox 360/PS3 performance. If it could come in at 2-3x the power of PS3/360 it could have sold at £300 but no one seems to be predicting that sort of power.

It all depends on the price. If it's really expensive, I am definitively not pre ordering the Wii U.

If I were to pre-order it, I would not do so this early. Especially since there is not even a price or release date yet.

The Wii was sold out for a very long time ...

I don't pre-order ANYTHING anymore. I simply go on launch day or a few days/weeks after the initial rush and I always get what I want. What's wrong with waiting just a little longer? I don't see the point in things like midnight premieres, midnight launches or early access. You're still going to play it for a long time after release day so I don't see the point in it.

I'm gonna buy it day one, like I did with the 3DS. But I've never preordered so I probably won't do that, unless there is a really good preorder incentive, like a free game of your choice or something along the lines of.

Think for a second: Nintendo's previous Console (3DS) undersold at launch... Meaning they will probably send less Wii U's. Which is the same problem they had with the Wii when it was surprisingly popular!

I don't think I will pre order the Wii U. In-fact I have never ever pre ordered anything in my lifetime. I might get it some time after launch though.
