I was just wondering if i have to buy the same virtual console games i have on my Wii for the Wii U or can i just download them again on the Wii U for free.

You can access the Wii Shop Channel through Wii Mode, I don't know if you can access the Virtual Console games without having to go into Wii Mode though.

There have been a few articles popping up on how you go about transferring them from the Wii to Wii U - I'd imagine via SD card or something.

From whay i read you can transfer them.but they will be deleted off the wii and added to the wii u.

- Insert an SD card into the Wii U's SD card slot.
- Open the Wii Transfer Application.
- When instructed, transfer the same SD card to the Wii.
- Go to the Wii Shop channel, and Download a transfer application.
- Run the transfer application on the Wii, which it will transfer all data to the SD card.
- Insert SD Card into the Wii U. All data will then be transferred then deleted from SD card.

I have an unused virtual console $20 card sitting around somewhere...will this be good for the Wii U or are they doing a different thing?

you transfer them from wii to the wii inside the wii u, to play them on your wii u you gotta access the wii mode

So, I've seen the eShop cards at Target already. But will Wii U accept Nintendo points or are they drawing a clear line there?
