Watching the first few minutes, I've noticed these guys have no idea what's going on. They remind me of dads who buy the crazy new hip toy for their kids and have to read the instructions 50 times before they know how to put it together.

They do that for a reason. The DS will require less power to charge, compared to the console which needs to be powered all the time and doesn't have a battery. You really don't want to put the wrong power supply into the wrong things, even if it fits and is charging/powering, doesn't mean that it won't burn out.

Actually both the 3DS and GamePad use the same battery.
