I was wondering if the Wii U will support component cables, The one with 5 pins. And still be in Full HD.
I ask this because my game capture device does not have HDMI input,(only Ypbpr) And I don't want to spend £30 on a HDMI to Component splitter.

so basically, Is there a way of getting full HD through component?
Maybe if I use one of these?

I haven't seen of any answer for this at all which worries me.

Yes it does support component cables and in fact you can use the same ones that were used on the Wii. It has the same type of multi A/V out connector the Wii has.

I wasn't referring to those. There were component cables made for the Wii which you could buy as an option. That's what I use with my Wii. I would think that Nintendo will sell them again repackaged as Wii U cables but if you can find the original Wii ones they will work. With the Wii you get 480p which is HD. With the Wii U you should get up to 1080.

I've answered this twice here!
Yes, and it'll have a HD picture, but the audio will be stereo.

some people got composite, others were lucky and got component.
