So multiplayer isn't getting shoved in needlessly, taking valuable time away from the construction of the single player game? How could this ever be seen as a bad thing?

And it doesn't appear that anyone is too upset with this. Single-player games should not need a tacked-on multiplayer. Usually it derives the emphasis away from the SP.

Fallout 3 and Skyrim are two of my favourite games and have no multiplayer. I like the scripted single player experience and just running around a small level shooting over and over again gets repetitive very quickly. The fact Bioshock Infinite is a single player experience makes it far more appealing to me.

This should be a good thing like Mignaga said, they can focus on a more immersive and perfected single player experience. The game seemed to be more single player oriented anyway.

Not a deal breaker for me, I thought the story of the first Bioshock was great and it didn't have multiplayer, I have not finished the 2nd because I got sidetracked with another game but I never felt the need to try the multiplayer it offered. Games with a great story do not need useless multiplayer to sell it.
