I think we do. Preferably for Wii U, XBox 720, and Playstation Omni - all three. It would allow the people interested in specs and technical discussions to discuss them even more and allow the people who aren't interested to ignore them more easily.

I don't feel it's needed. You can discuss specs in a single thread, you don't need a separate forum for it.

What about when all the articles pop up to discuss? Like recently, a developer said something like that they wished for 8GB RAM in the XBox 720 and Playstation Omni and even wished for 32GB RAM.

Easily could be made in the general gaming forum.

My idea pretty much consisted of a subforum in general gaming for the Wii U, XBox 720 and Playstation Omni specs and technical discussions.

An entire subforum? couldnt you just make 3 "official" threads.... one for wii u specs, one for xbox 8 specs and one for ps4 specs....

I agree. I also do not think that there would be any worthwhile posts or interest in the topic to justify a sub-forum. The Wii U is out and specs are now known, so overall interest on this sub-forum would not be as high.

Sounds like a cool idea. They'd allow this?

You could even make the XBox 720 and Playstation Omni one thread. I don't see the need for two.

Only about 50% of the specs are known.

I see no reason why not... it would prevent future clutter

I've had enough of all the CPU/GPU threads, same crap different author, I couldn't care less, it's actually caused me to not be on these forums as much, I got better things to do than read through all that crap everyday.

I don't think a separate sub-forum for technical discussion is necessary. I've added quite a few sub-forums recently, and I don't want to have too many of them. Having official that's for this sort of discussion is fine though.

Yeah we need a subforum (imo). Even with the official threads they're still everywhere. It's polluting the games discussions with debates. Funneling them into a subforum will also focus all the tech specs discussions which are in the general games thread and Wii U hardware.

I'd actually wait awhile and see what happens with the "Official" threads.

We already have a Wii U hardware section, which covers technical specs, and if people used to search option, we wouldn't have a flood of threads for the Omni and 720. A subsection isn't the solution to every problem. Specifically, for a situation like this where most of the discussions are almost all identical, a subsection makes no sense.

No, it just needs merging and warnings given out to people not reading and/or searching.

we should add a subforum to discuss subforums.
