It's probably not just kidney but the other stuff as well. In some places offal (kidney and organs) is considered good food, in other places, even a delicacy. But who am I kidding, who could ever consider KFC a delicacy?what sort of kidney though ,no way is a chicken kidney that big !

While yeah it is kind of shocking, honestly it's not a big deal. As stated it was probably a human error in the cleaning process, and kidneys are full of nice vitamins and such anyways. It's really not a big deal to eat organs as it's just another piece of meat, and I'm pretty sure there's pork offal in McRibs.
Besides with how much meat and little veggies some people are eating, perhaps it'd be best if they got their nutrition from offal if they really do refuse to get them from more healthy sources...rather than spending money on vitamins and making expensive urine. If you were picky like that out in the wild, you'd die soon. There's a reason predators eat most of their kill's carcass.

KFC doesn't actually cut up their own chicken, if is plucked and cut up and bagged by another company and sent in fresh for the day, so it was likely the suppliers fault that that happened since this brain like organ was concealed underneath the chicken. I work at KFC so i know.

I heard that turned out to be a prank.Didn't someone find a finger in their food at McDonald's like a week ago?
Also, why let this ammunition go to waste. Chicken kidney is so rare due to removal processes and just perfect for some higher class pranks.
