I frequent a French linkdump and this one came up about video games. This guy is selling 30 years of videogames history on ebay :
http://www.ebay.com/...-/121064017825?
For half million dollar.
Like any gamer out there, if I had the cash, I would buy that RIGHT NOW.

I can tell this guy hasn't had many dates in the last thirty years or so...
You would be surprised, I have a good collection. The reason why I can keep doing it is because my gf is a gamer and likes collecting too.
It's sad to see this actually. I understand people run into financial issues and must make sacrifices and whatnot. Still sad to see collections like these go. Hope it all goes to a good home.

You're lucky you have someone that shares the same interests as you.
Yeah why bother selling it all?? That's a lot of stuff!

The current bid is 550,000, so someone is willing to pay for itHe would have a better chance to get rid of some of that stuff if he would sell every gear or console individually. Who would buy everything for 500k?? that´s just metal tbh

It's a shame cause he would make so much more money that way than selling it all in one bulk lot, plus he would find it much easier to manage.
But when you got 6000+ games to sell you don't really have time.
He said he wasn't going to do any individual sales on any of this.

If he kept them all in there boxes un opened in mint condition he would make over 2 million easily
Easily. Especially those that were really rare to begin with.

Yeah, that's quite a shame, really. I would surely skim through his collection to find some stuff I would be interessed in if he would allow single purchases.

I am lucky. I can only think that maybe he needs the money more than the games? who knows. It seems like he was pretty into it..so to one day just be like..yeah I don't want this anymore...seems odd.

I can guarantee whoever buys this isn't a collector, they most likely are looking to turn it around and sell it off individually or stock a stock. As a collector I love finding stuff out in the wild at garage sales and thrift store. Once and a blue moon I will buy a game at a classic game shop if I want it badly and cant find it. Pretty much every collector I ever met has been the same way and buying this all at once takes away from the achievement.

No this is legit. I've seen a handful of collections like these go up on eBay. Just because they don't list the reason doesn't mean there isn't one.

They could have just gotten those images from online, but I am probably just over thinking it.
