And by the way - Batman Arkham Asylum is also listed for $29.99 on Toys R Us now.

That doesn't make any sense. Its a third party game and cannot in anyway be a first party game. They are two totally different classifications of games.

I'm having a hard time understanding any of his posts.

Me too. Not to mention he's bringing up a lot of old threads unneccessarily.

I think I did it to this one, I was looking forward to getting ASM on the eShop but it looks like I'll have to get it at retail.

Well this thread is just fine as its still current as the game isn't out yet so the topic is still relevant. Some of the threads that have been resurrected recently would have been better off remaing buried on previous pages of the forum rather then being bumped. Anyway this is getting off topic so I'll stop here.

Sorry guys.... I resurrected this thread a few days ago because of the Toys R Us sale that's going on.

I ordered it on Thursday and it should arrive either today or tomorrow.

When I play it for a bit I will report back here with details. ;)

Sorry for the double post....

Alright I played the first 3 chapters of the game last night and.... (drumroll)

It's really fun.

The game itself definitely has some flaws but they are easy to look past because of how fun the game plays.

The fighting system is similar to Batman Arkham Asylum (in a good way.)

The first boss fight was really neat too. A giant robot bug thing the size of a 3 or 4 story building.

Also the open world/sandbox type of city is done very well.

In game usage of the gamepad is also similar to Arkham Asylum. The map is always available and it shows your position in real time. It also displays where challenges and crimes are located.

I really like the experience point system as well.

More to come as I continue to web sling all over Manhattan!!

PS - Not worth $40 - $50 bucks but totally worth $30 in my opinion.

With so many games to play, finally got around to posting back in this thread with my thoughts on the game. I started off on the human level of difficulty as I want to be eased into the game and learn the control mechanics. As nothinglost said, same combat system as Arkham City.  I agree, the first boss was definitely awesome and after defeating it, you just get drawn into more of the game.

Reviews for 360/PS3:

IGN: 7.0 with a community score of 8.0

Gameinformer: 6.75 with a community score of 8.25

Metacritic: 69 with a community score of 7.6

Gamespot: 7.5

So for the people out there that care about reviews here's the break down of a few sites. When a score hovers around 7.0 it typically it's a good game, just not for everybody. Everybody who has played it has good things to say about it. I'm glad the game is coming to Wii U, I'll definitely be buying this game.

No but seriously I used to believe in reviews, until Gamespot gave Skyward Sword a 7.5 and IGN gave it a 10.

Nice, glad you dig the game too.

I was pleasantly surprised by it after all of the "Meh" reviews that kept popping up but like I've always said....

You have to play a game to know if you enjoy it. ;)

Hey thanks! I wasn't sure if I should get this game, because of all the mediocre reviews, but once I'm able to I'll probably pick it up! I love me some spider-man

Nice!!!

Glad I could give you some first hand gameplay info.

I'm still loving the game but it hasn't been getting much attention for the past 2 weeks because Lego City Undercover & Walking Dead: SI have been constantly in the Wii U.

I'm sure that once I beat Lego City that Spiderman will get back in the regular mix. ;)

Yeah, I haven't been playing mine as much as I've wanted to recently, due to lots of work here in the college life, but since I haven't gotten any new games recently I've still been playing black ops II! I plan on picking up this game, Injustice, and Need For Speed as soon as I have the money though!
