Probably. Haven't we been getting a new Assassin's Creed game every year now?I wonder if this will be a reveal of the new game we been hearing about lately, and if it will indeed focus on pirates.

Pretty much...I just hope the new one is different enough to interest me....getting a new game so often can really make the series stale if they don't keep it fresh.

What's with all the mini e3-like conferences these days?
I was wondering the same thing. I think people seen how popular Nintendo Directs have gotten and they want to hype up stuff without having to stuff it all in at E3.
