#279617 Nikkei: "June will be a major test for Iwata"

Posted by lucario23 on 02 April 2014 - 06:55 PM in Wii U Games and Software

anyone here think Miyamoto would make a good president?

Sakurai. He knows the gamer, He's got a vision and works tirelessly to achieve it. Appreciates the PS4, but understands how Nintendo does things to set themselves apart. He could blend the stuff Nintendo needs to be taking from the PS4 and One and combine it with the good and unique stuff at Nintendo to make awesome stuff happen.

Though he does need to be able to prove himself on a business side I suppose.

#275980 Nicalis Founder - "Wii U Gamepad is a waste of time and resources."

Posted by lucario23 on 05 March 2014 - 08:20 PM in Wii U Hardware

To an extent, it is kind of a waste. No game has used it in any substantially useful way besides Nintendo Land (where's it's part of the game), Game & Wario (same reason as Nintendo Land), the Scribblenauts games (typing), Lego City Undercover, and Pikmin 3's map. Everything else has just been off TV or a stats screen, which is a nice feature, but it's just not being used to it's full potential.

how many games really used the wii mote to it's full potential at this time in the console cycle? I mean we had Galaxy, Fire Emblem, Metroid?, that's about it for actual games of this nature. sure, it had it's mainstream success, but those games were wii sports and stuff, never really changed the core gamer's persective on how they should play their games

Buy Platinum games and get them making a new Starfox game and a Metroid game.

StarFox? yes. Metroid? NO!! Not a Platinum kind of game. Fox needs a return and Kamiya and company could make a good game out of it. I'm with everyone else who wants F-Zero to go to Shi'nen as Fast Racing i close enough that they could do it with minimal involvement from Nintendo.

Only first party titles on the 2015 list that interests me are Zelda and Xenoblade.  :(

I've got an interest in Splatoon and Star Fox as well, but Zelda and Xenoblade are the two I'm really hoping for. I just hope they are worth the wait!!

The motion controls aren't bad for mariokart, just not for competitive racing

#285624 Mario Kart 8 Online Disappointment + Why so many babies?

Posted by lucario23 on 18 May 2014 - 05:04 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Nope, when will people stop asking for this. A new mario galaxy, it doesn't sell. No 3D mario does, if you look at the sales figures 2D mario games sell the best. This is because, and here's the shocker, it is what people know. We don't want something totally different, we want what we know. As for Metroid (and all other old games like F-zero and such), just no. These are games that would have to go through a lot off change if they want to sell it to current gamers, because they expect much more. That's why Nintendo doesn't dare touching them. Starfox 64 3D didn't sell, F-Zero is only known amongst the older gamers and metroid has been released on the GC so it hasn't been that long. Nintendo should just keep these IP's in the archives and look into new/other IP's

Who cares about what sells? Are you really so attached to this company that you would rather see them make millions off I every game they made instead of makin games people want? F-Zero and Metroid may not be huge sellers, but games like Fire Emblem Awakening with a target of 700,000 copies sold. Not every game has to sell millions to be a success. If Nintendo lost money on GX, I bet it wasn't nearly as much as you think.

Do you even know the average age of the Nintendo install base? Just about Hal the people on my college dorm floor had 3DSs. Most of them got games other than just pokemon. I have two friends on my Wii U. My brother, and a friend 2 years older than me in his 20s. And another friend of mine from college. The people I talk to who are interested in the console are my COLLEGE friends, not the people in my brother's 8th grade class who can't see past the latest Call of Duty. Their complaints and reasons for not getting the console are things like it's online infrastructure and games they are interested in beyond Mariokart and Smash Bros. and Zelda. They want to see new IP and third party support and they'd be back in a heartbeat. And they are the fans with the money to throw at Nintendo if sai games were available.

#285631 Mario Kart 8 Online Disappointment + Why so many babies?

Posted by lucario23 on 18 May 2014 - 06:55 PM in Wii U Games and Software

People do not understand budget to sales ratio.

The Last Story sold 200k for Xseed. People laugh at it. Xseed announces it's thier most successful game ever also a success for Mistwalker.
Fire Emblem sold over 900k for a game that only need to seel 240K to be a success.

People seem to assume any game needs to sell in the millions to be a success ort even a very good success. It's not true. Games like CoD,GTA pour half a million in and need huge sales and massive marketing. Games lke Skyrim or Bioshock Infinite despire being loaded iwth problems in finished product and devlopment get so hyped and so much put in too big to fail even when they do.
Games can sell over a million or a couple million and be a failure.

Can I get a little more grammar before I 100% agree with you please?

#283899 Mario Kart 8 Main Menu

Posted by lucario23 on 05 May 2014 - 09:22 AM in Wii U Games and Software

They can't get over the fact that the new CoD has sh!t graphics and the fact that they're copying titanfall?

X was revealed with Mechs in the trailer in the January Direct of 2013. Titanfall was revealed at E3 2013... Yep the game revealed first is copying the game that was still unannounced. Nevermind the fact that X has completely different gameplay and combat in an open world experience instead of the shooter with competitive online play experience of Titanfall.

#279710 Mario Kart 8 Devs Praise Wii U Power - Show Off Visual Stunner

Posted by lucario23 on 03 April 2014 - 12:50 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Anyone else feel when MK8, Super Smash, Bayonetta 2 and new Zelda drops the Wii U will be reborn?

Sales might not take off as much as Nintendo would like but still, I see Wii U selling more than Gamecube despite peoples low expectations.

While I agree with you, I really can't get over the fact that they haven't included cross-game chat yet. I've played my 360 for many hours with my friends online and I realized that I can't get the same experience playing the games I'd prefer to play.

#276034 In defence of third party publishers

Posted by lucario23 on 06 March 2014 - 08:18 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Nintendo is also to blame in many respects as well. They didn't go with the same x86 architecture that the others consoles went with. granted, this makes the Wii U the only console that can truly be called a console instead of a box with PC parts in it, but still, if they  were able to get ports without rewriting a larger portion of the game I'm sure we would be seeing more support.

#293002 If you were in charge on Nintendo...

Posted by lucario23 on 12 July 2014 - 08:58 AM in Wii U Hardware

I would drop the Wii name faster then (insert funny joke here).

I would call it the Eff U before using Wii again.

Make your God Damn dev kits 5 YEARS before launch and get a Damn Metriod, a Mario, and a Zelda game out for launch (hell, throw a Pikmin in there too).

Yes Nintendo, You used to be able to launch a system with 3 total games for the first month or 2. Those days are long gone.

Since your are launching with actual games Nintendo fans love, market the Damn thing to Nintendo fans. No more casual BS. Keep it real, Then you have a chance of getting new gamers if you make some old school style games with modern tech. Your games are to easy.

My 4 year old loves Pikmin. He has beat most bosses in that game since he was 3 1/2.

When a 3 year old can beat your bosses your have lost your way.

Which brings me to my next idea. Market to the dad who wants to share good games with his kids. I am not Playing CoD wIth my 3 year old. But I let him watch/play Pikmin, Mario etc.

He loves Nintendo characters.

So what am I saying. ..mmm. ..

Launch with real games.

Market to hard-core Nintendo fans (not kids or college students. .. try the dad who loves the old games and wants something tasteful too share with kids)

Increase challenge so games aren't for soccer moms and 3 year olds.

There is probably more but i am not getting paid for this so I am losing interest.

Plus, as with all the other stuff I have been right about here, You guys will just call me an idiot. This should be enough material for that. 8).

OH. .. AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. IT IS 2014 AND I CAN'T PLAY A DVD? MUCH LESS A BLU-RAY?! FIX THIS! !!!!!!

Lol. The irony about that is by the time the next wave of consoles come out, physical media will going out and everything will be streamed.

I'm a college kid. To which games are you referring that should be marketed towards you and not us? Metroid? F-Zero? Smash Bros? Heck, even Mario Zelda or fire emblem? You want these olde games back and you think college kids dot want that too? Very person at college I've talked to wants the old school Nintendo games back yet you say don't market to us? Please clarify...

#294135 Hyrule Warriors

Posted by lucario23 on 24 July 2014 - 08:43 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Not my type of game. It still sucks to me.
Looks like a rebranded dynasty warrior.
I think there was even a metal gear solid like this.

Idk why game makers take there series so far away from what it use to be.

You do get the whole point of this game is to be a crossover of sorts to where you have a dynasty warriors style game set in the Zelda universe right? Like you're criticizing a game for doing exactly what the game is telling you it's going to do. I'm sorry it's not exactly what you want, but don't bash it or consider it crap because of that. Grade it impartially for quality, but grade as biased as you like as far as enjoyment.

#285630 Hideki Kamiya Finds Out that the PS4 isn’t Backwards Compatible, Calls it “

Posted by lucario23 on 18 May 2014 - 06:51 PM in General Gaming

By the time a console is 2 generations old it's games should be ready to be put on an emulator and resold digitally.

If a next gen console isn't powerful enough to run an emulator for all games from the previous generation then it shouldn't be called a next generation console.

Those are my two rules to for console hardware.

#285694 Hideki Kamiya Finds Out that the PS4 isn’t Backwards Compatible, Calls it “

Posted by lucario23 on 19 May 2014 - 05:50 AM in General Gaming

I have a hard time figuring out where to start on my counterargument, so I'm going to just cut to the chase by calling you a derogatory term for a person with inferior mental capacity while strongly advising you to obtain more information on the capabilities and limitations of emulators.

How about the Wii? It was emulating N64. It was playing GameCube games. Granted GCN isn't emulated, so I guess I should say be able to play last gen games though not necessarily emulated.

#290311 Grade each conference

Posted by lucario23 on 14 June 2014 - 05:06 PM in E3 2014 Archive

Microsoft- B-B+

Phantom Dust and Scalebound plus all the usual stuff was great!

Sony- N/A

didn't watch, but No Man's Sky is only a timed exclusive for them and I saw someone in this thread say it was console exclusive to them. It they lied/ extremely downplayed that I'll be extremely pissed and retroactively give them an F on the grading scale that's a 0%

Ubisoft- B to B-

Only got to see the first part of it, and I'm sure it was solid, but as I haven't heard about any new IPs that came out of that conference like Watch Dogs, The Crew, and the Division have in the last 2 years it really couldn't have been their best year.

EA C-

Battlefront, DICE, and Bioware saved this from becoming a complete disaster. Battlefront didn't have enough shown. Mass Effect looked neat but seemed pretty early on still, Battlefield Hardline and Mirror's Edge were basically the only other highlights besides that.

#293180 Fire Emblem: Awakening characters and Captain Falcon announced for Smash

Posted by lucario23 on 14 July 2014 - 01:28 PM in Wii U Games and Software

I was expecting chrom and robin to be together, but I thought it'd be the other way around. Wish chrom would help out on a few other moves too though. Lucian looks like she's gonna be the quicker Marth from brawl more or less and Marth will be more reminiscent of his melee self

#276701 Extended Nintendo Network Maintenance on Wii U and 3DS Scheduled For 13th March

Posted by lucario23 on 10 March 2014 - 04:54 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Yeah, that and probably work to reduce people hacking Wii U/3ds. I'm not expecting anything major in this update but was meaning their attitude to online in general has been above expectations.

They're getting there. I'm not cutting them slack yet, but I will acknowledge they are slowly improving. This generation is the generation of catch up for Nintendo. I'll be curious to see where they end this generation and start the next.

#270159 Eurogamers most anticipated game of 2014- MonolithSoft's 'X'

Posted by lucario23 on 02 February 2014 - 08:53 PM in Wii U Games and Software

just curious, but what's the song in the trailer? Can I get it as a download and is there a full version? And this game will be a must buy  for me as well, even though I probably won't invest much time into it. Hopefully that's not the case as it looks amazing and I want to Play it an awful lot. I really hope they hype this game up before launch in other news outlets. It would be a perfect game to advertise in something like a Super Bowl commercial or during a mainstream Western event. The mechs and stuff would totally appeal to that audience that is currently flocking to Titanfall. The advertising would have to be done right, but it has so much marketing potential on top of game potential

Posted by lucario23 on 27 April 2014 - 11:05 AM in Wii U Games and Software

You're expecting way too much from Nintendo if that's what you want to see.

Just because I want to see it doesn't mean I think it's going to happen. And it's not too much to ask for, they just don't see they need to be doing it.

#282695 E3 2014 Discussion Thread Mega-Mix

Posted by lucario23 on 26 April 2014 - 02:32 PM in Wii U Games and Software

I'll be happy if they get Project CARs to get up on STAGE for them and talk about the game on the Wii U console. on top of that, they need the full reveal of Monolith Soft's new game, a reveal of Zelda/Metroid, Smash Bros, and a few third party surprises.

#271821 DKC: Tropical Freeze has some TERRIBLE loading times.

Posted by lucario23 on 12 February 2014 - 07:15 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Do some pushups or eat a banana during the loading times.

All the Bananas!!! And I've never really had an issue with loading times. For me they were always a sense of anticipation. Granted I haven't played Lego City Undercover so there may be an upper limit to my patience, but Very few games have ever reached it (Lego Island 2 among others)
