#204772 Frostbite Technical Director on why Frostbite never came to Wii U

Posted by Dragon on 07 May 2013 - 09:58 AM in Wii U Hardware

I was being less literal.  But this is a given.  I was using it as a "gotcha" moment.  He basically said that CryTek, EPIC, and Unity have better engines and engineers by implying that though all those other engines work great, FrostByte does not.

AHAHAHAHA how smart of you to point that out!

I responded as well.  Basically I consider this less of an indictment of what the WiiU is capable of, but an indictment of the talent of their engineers.

I consider this an indictment that EA is butthurt.

How rude of you. Don't you know it's wrong to make EA seem stupid? /sarcasm

Oh brother, although this is kind of funny that the guy is a complete ahole, this tweet is being made into a story by gaming sites all over internet land which in turn only brings more bad press to the Wii U.

http://news.softpedi...es-351223.shtml

Nintendo needs to start playing offense.

"Performance Issues" my ass. If that was the REAL problem, it shouldn't even touch the PS3.

#204647 Frostbite Technical Director on why Frostbite never came to Wii U

yes, they said it's a childrens toy many times. :(

God knows how Nintendo can change their perception of them?.

Yeah. Show them it's a kids toy by beating the crap outta them with the GamePad! ;)

#204643 Frostbite Technical Director on why Frostbite never came to Wii U

I hate to read kinda stuff, it makes me think the Wii-U is rubbish. Everyone even my friends are constantly bashing me, telling me it's a crappy console blah blah blah.

This will only give them more ammunition to bash Nintendo and Wii-U. :(

Let me guess.... They are the type of people who consider Nintendo "kiddy" and use every excuse to bash the Wii U, right?

#204636 is this a good pc for gaming and editing?

Posted by Dragon on 07 May 2013 - 12:51 AM in The Café

You have a good setup for gaming and editing.

My setup:

EVGA GTX 660ti

AMD Phenom II 955 BE
8GB Kingston DDR3 RAM 1600Mhz

500GB HDD

I can't remember the full specs on my Motherboard. I just know that it's an MSI board.

#204634 13 Yearold attemps to rape then murders mother over taking away his videogame

Posted by Dragon on 07 May 2013 - 12:40 AM in The Café

"Self defence" is the usual explanation behind owning a gun, but what does the actually mean? Defence from who? My brother lives in an area where there have been several stabbings, yet he doesn't carry a knife around or have a knife ready in his house to defend himself. As for a "hobby" enjoying shooting things is basically an enjoyment of violence, sure shooting targets isn't going to hurt anyone, but the whole point of shooting targets is to improve your shooting skills so you will be able to shoot that guy who breaks into your house to steal your TV.

There really is no need to own a gun. That's the way I see it anyway.

We're not really talking about terrorism here. Obviously bombs could do a lot more damage but it is difficult to control home made bombs and much easier to control guns.

There are 40 times more intentional homicides committed with a firearm in the US than the UK. The US has an intentional homicide rate of 4.8, compared to the UK's 1.2.

No, banning guns would never work, but it's clear something has to be done.

Defense from who? Odds are in America, the crook you will have to face will more than likely have a gun. I don't know about you, but I'd much rather have gun than a knife or baseball bat to face him.

Enjoying violence, you say? I've practiced shooting. It's more of a rush of excitement. It's neat holding power in your hands like that. I'm not shooting to enjoy violence. That's merely an assumption you're making on all gun owners.

Guns can certainly be controlled more than bombs, for law abiding citizens. Like I mentioned before, the black market will rise. That way, you won't have a registered gun and the Government can't track you down for it.

I'd like you to back up your statement with links to articles with information about the subject "40 times more intentional homicides committed with a firearm in the US than the UK"

"Clearly something has to be done" Hmm.... Gun laws are already being proposed and all it's doing is affecting law abiding citizens.

I'm glad this is a civilized argument. I've been in many horrible ones. :P

Wait. What? I wasn't talking about parenting. I was talking about the point of owning a gun.

Anyway, I don't think I'm going to listen to the views of gun control from someone who was in the armed forces. Obviously you are going to be pro-guns.

He understands and has experience with guns. Why not listen to him and his views?

LOL He will never respond to that. EA & D.I.C.E. are flip-flopping. First is to keep from "stretching too thin." Now it's because they say Frostbite 2 wasn't promising on Wii U.

They couldn't make it any more obvious.

#204381 Becoming a Nintendo loner...

Posted by Dragon on 06 May 2013 - 07:01 AM in Wii U Hardware

I'm becoming a Nintendo loner as well.  I had the Xbox360 and PS3 for the last generation, to only end up selling the PS3 later down the road.  Since I got the Wii U the Xbox has been out of commission.  I don't have as much time to spend playing video games anymore with an 8 month old and wife, so there is no point in wasting money on PS4 and Xbox720 material.  Plus, I want my daughter to grow up on the same games as I did.  I think that would be kind of neat.

I grew up on franchises my Dad played.

Zelda

Mario

Mario Kart

Metroid

Donkey Kong Country

I love Nintendo franchises! :D

#204376 New York City elementary school cafeteria first in the US to go completely veget

Posted by Dragon on 06 May 2013 - 06:51 AM in The Café

What are you even talking about?  How does a school implementing an vegetarian meal plan take away free will from anywhere?

You do know that the students could choose with their free will, or get their parents, to bring lunches instead (which in some cases actually save more money than a school meal program).

You make a good point. But can't schools regulate what you take to school? It's been a while since I was in school, so I don't remember.

#204375 WHY DID YOU BUY THE WII U

#204373 13 Yearold attemps to rape then murders mother over taking away his videogame

Posted by Dragon on 06 May 2013 - 06:45 AM in The Café

Why do people own guns in the first place? I don't get it. The only reason you would own a gun is if you enjoy violence so it's no wonder people go around shooting each other all time.

I'm around guns. I've shot them. I've been taught gun safety. I'll even be getting my gun permit when I get to the age of requirement. So does that mean I enjoy violence? Haha NO. I hate violence. I'm scared of conflict. The only reasons I want guns are for a hobby and self-defense. To assume people want guns just because they enjoy violence is pure ignorance.

The problem has been the mentally unstable people behind the weapon.

https://en.wikipedia...ma_City_bombing

^

168/169 Deaths with over 600 injuries. All without a single bullet.

Sure, guns are more easily accessible, but with the right crafting and good wits, you could do a LOT more damage with properly crafted bombs.

Ignoring everything; Even with a gun ban in place, America would still too many. There would be a HUGE black market for them.

Maybe or maybe not but the PC is not a console.

You missed my sarcasm. I was poking fun at the "That might mean that the graphics are better"  part.
