#137853 Gamester81 Reviews the Wii U

Posted by ianh05 on 25 November 2012 - 06:25 AM in Wii U Hardware

Whoa really? Phew, i have been kind of scared of buying one because of that update.
Is there a source that can prove this please :)

http://aussie-gamer....d-in-background

"You see, the Wii U System Update is not 5GB for a start – it’s more like 1.2GB as confirmed by many who have since watched their internet bandwidth counters tick over while downloading the file. The 5GB confusion comes from the fact that the Wii U Operating System (dubbed by some ‘WiiOS’) takes up around 5GB of memory on the built in hard drive. What this means is even if you don’t run the update, your hard drive will have 5GB used up for the system software.
Further, Mr. Bigshot need not be so impatient in future. The “Day One Update” can be downloaded in the background.

When you first set up your WiFi settings on the Wii U, the console finds an update to download and asks if you wish to continue to download. You then have two options; “Yes” and “Cancel”. Hitting “Cancel” will return you to complete the system settings and will load up the Home Menu as normal, leaving you free to play your games as you wish."

They are probably just bored of Nintendo.

they don't like the console because it's from Nintendo? that's bias, so it's still harsh.

touch screen is fine, it's better then having to pay for a usb keyboard.

#135783 IGN gives ME3 on Wii U a 9.5/10

Please explain? from what I've been reading it has a lot of problems.

#135888 IGN gives ME3 on Wii U a 9.5/10

It means that IGN liked the game. Just because a game has some technical hicups doesn't mean it can't be 9.5 material.

it's a dodgey port of a good game, a lot buggier from what I've been reading so the score should be at least somewhat lower then the other versions of the game.

#131764 IGN reviews ZombiU

Posted by ianh05 on 17 November 2012 - 07:36 PM in Wii U Games and Software

O god this isent good maybbe ubisoft told them to take it down cause the game sucks I hope this is not red steal all over again my copy of zombie u shipped too. Ign just played a recent build at the end of october and called it the wii u killer up so wtf happened to the game. I thought nintendo power gave it a 9

Ubisoft told them to take it down most likely cause the embargo is still active for ZombiU. Don't take that gamespot review seriously either, the guy is a terrible reviewer who doesn't know what survival horror truely is and he played it on chicken mode (easy).

a few bad reviews, many good reviews. Everyone I've watched play it has been having fun even with the stale melee combat which isn't bad enough to make the game bad as a whole.

#97144 Leaked Wii U eShop Games!

Posted by ianh05 on 02 August 2012 - 12:12 AM in Wii U Games and Software

wasn't this a rumour from march or something? still if WoW was on Wii U it would be a huge advantage for Nintendo to have over other consoles.

#135889 List of games that can be played completely on the Wii U pad

Posted by ianh05 on 21 November 2012 - 09:37 PM in Wii U Games and Software

the only games you need the gamepad and TV for are the ones that use special interaction between both screens (some of the nintendoland games and ZombiU for example)

#133923 Looking for complete playthrough of NintendoLand attractions.

people are too busy on zombiU and NSMBU to try and complete the attractions -.-

sure is, warchamp7 spent like 5+ hours on metroid blast alone and I don't think he mastered all the bonus missions yet. When I made this topic I didn't know the solo player games had new game + modes etc.

#133330 Looking for complete playthrough of NintendoLand attractions.

Posted by ianh05 on 19 November 2012 - 07:18 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I've been watching a number of live streams over the past 24+ hours and none have really covered much of the later levels in the attractions in NintendoLand. Has any attraction apart from DK's Crash Course been beaten yet? if so where can I find some full attraction playthrough?

Would love to see just how tough the mini-games get :)

#130598 Mass Effect 3 WiiU port have technical issues

Australian companies sure do suck at porting games.

#130601 Mass Effect 3 WiiU port have technical issues

The Company porting the game to the Wii U is an Australian developer. EA is just a publisher, not a developer.

which company is porting it? didn't think any aussie companies were involved in ME3.

Its almost like EA is trying to screw Nintendo over on purpose!

#97045 My AMAZING uses for the NFC Sensor!

Posted by ianh05 on 01 August 2012 - 12:33 PM in Wii U Games and Software

why stick to basic figures when you can make them customisable?

example of this:

http://www.ncsx.com/www/zxed/zxed.htm

I'm all for collectable games as long as one figure/card isn't superior to any others.

Just imagine this, Super Smash Bros 4! Now with evn more characters but the only ones in the game are Mario, Link, Kirby, and Pikachu! So now you have to go out and buy more characters, Yeah! (my wallet is crying right now).

Skylanders works just because it's a full single player game so having 3 characters at the start doesn't hurt, fighting games on the other hand would have a difficult time trying to get additional NFC characters to work.

I'm not sure but it might have something to do with how fast you win or something like that.

#148784 New Idea! Wii U Dual Games - 2 games at once!

Posted by ianh05 on 17 December 2012 - 12:28 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I'm no tech wiz, it was just an idea I hope to see put into use... even if it's just for VC/downloaded games :)

#148748 New Idea! Wii U Dual Games - 2 games at once!

Posted by ianh05 on 16 December 2012 - 09:21 PM in Wii U Games and Software

I had this idea a week or so ago but never got around to typing it up so here it is. Wii U is currently the only console with 2 screens and a lot of games will make use of it for that games benefit but why stick to only using that second screen for additional gameplay on a single game? Dual gaming on a single console is now possible! Currently if you have a brother, sister, friend or someone else over who wants to play a different game they can't until you finish.

Dual Gaming:

*Play 2 different games at once using each screen to play a different game.
*Could (maybe) be possible with games on your hard drive.
*Player one could use pro controller with the TV while player two uses the gamepad and it's screen.

Thoughts/Suggestions?

I was thinking if it can handle giving 2 players 2 different views in local co-op maybe if you split a game down the middle 1 person could play one half while the other person played the other half.
