#93778 Hello, everyone!

Posted by Devin McCourty on 16 July 2012 - 07:44 PM in Introduction Central

I actually own all Gen 3 and 4 games. I felt like replaying the Kanto region, didn't want to erase my Fire Red data (My Charizard is almost level 100!), so I erased my Leaf Green data to start over with. I'm trying a lot harder to fill up my Pokedex this time around. I've been doing a lot of level grinding to get my pokemon to evolve. When I was younger I usually just leveled up my starter and then just caught other pokemon for the heck of it. Probably not the brightest move now that I think about it. :P

Charizard. I commend you for your taste, sire. Those are a lot of fun to raise! :D

I used to just bother training my starter, getting it up to an obscenely high level before getting wiped out because all my other Pokemon sucked :(

#93775 chat kicks me for no reason!

Posted by Devin McCourty on 16 July 2012 - 07:34 PM in Site News and Feedback

IP.Chat is quite a glitchy piece of software. It's supposed to auto-kick you after 30 minutes of being idle, but whether it actually does or not is up in the air. In my experience, ad blockers (regardless of whether you have the site whitelisted or not - it's enough to just have one enabled) often cause problems with it. If you don't use one, then IP.Chat is likely just having a bad day.

Unfortunately, there's virtually nothing that can be done about it, as IP.Chat is a remotely hosted solution that runs on IPS's servers, not my own.

To give my opinion of it, IP Chat is infuriating at times. An abundance of glitches here and there, bugs that annoy people, and overall bad design makes it less than stellar. Hopefully this one proves to be a bit more tame! :P

#93765 What Store do you Buy your Video Games at?

EB Games has... improved a bit over the years. Maybe it was the staff quality that was lacking a bit for me, but it sure feels different. That being said, I also sometimes head over to Wal-mart.

I'm Andy, one of Feld0's slaves the Moderators here.

Look forward to getting to know you! And I know how Feld0 can be when ordering his slaves precious guards around! :P

Oh, you own a Leaf Green? I own a FireRed copy myself. Haven't touched in a while, though - busy with my Sapphire!

#93757 What Consoles do you have?

Posted by Devin McCourty on 16 July 2012 - 07:18 PM in General Gaming

I currently own two GBA SPs (for trading Pokemon back and forth :P), a PS2, and a PS3.

I know I know, shame on me for not having a Wii or a DS.

#93751 Ps3 game recommendation

NBA 2K12 is a great start. There's multiplayer on that so you can take turns battling online opponents, or just duke it out 1-on-1! It takes a bit of time to get used to, though.

#93745 If Pokemon were real.

Because I'm not the hero Kanto needs, but the hero it deserves right now.

Very interesting to have Batman as a Zubat.

What would Ra's Al Ghul be?

#93743 Your favorite video game character?

Posted by Devin McCourty on 16 July 2012 - 07:06 PM in General Gaming

Nintendo: Samus from Metroid, for all the good reasons. Intelligent and is totally badass. Last time I played Metroid Prime, it felt truly good to be playing as her.

Other: Sam Fisher from the Splinter Cell series has to be my favorite of all time - he's quick, cunning, smart, and can be brutal (rightfully so) in order to get the job done.

#93742 Hello, everyone!

Posted by Devin McCourty on 16 July 2012 - 07:01 PM in Introduction Central

Hey there, everyone! My name's Devin, quite obviously, and... well, I actually don't know much about Nintendo or the Wii consoles. I am a big Pokemon fan, however, so that serves some purpose, right? :D I currently am looking to expand my horizons when it comes to Nintendo, my interest in it having piqued for quite a while now (when you start playing the Wii, it has a lasting effect). I am also looking to acquire a Wii U myself when the time comes.

As for me, I am a humble guy - am thoughtful, caring, am an avid sports fan (does anyone like the New England Patriots?), and love to play video games. I have owned a GBA SP for as long as I can remember, and it's just fun to sit back and replay my old Pokemon games ^^ For the time being, I am mainly here to learn more about Nintendo by actively participating on here myself, so the guides are much appreciated!

I first learned about this site just now, to be honest. I am from another one of Feld0's forums, so I'm familiar with his way of doing things and running the site, and I truly hope I can get to know you guys as well as his other Forum! :)

So without further ado, let's go ahead and talk.
