#133878 Regarding update and slow navigation menus

Posted by reef7009 on 19 November 2012 - 04:50 PM in Wii U Hardware

Its bad news about this update causing issues if the power goes out , i have a couple of questions/thoughts on this. Could nintendo not have put this  update on a disc? In the box? Also the reports of systems running slow...is this just on basic 8gb units or the deluxe 32gb aswell? The reason i ask is that doesnt an almost full memory run slower? Or is that just hdd that run slower as opposed to flash (in wii u)? (",)

#134372 Regarding update and slow navigation menus

Posted by reef7009 on 20 November 2012 - 05:59 AM in Wii U Hardware

Are some of the menu features being processed via an internet connection? If so , could it be busy servers on nintys end? The reason i ask is that on superchargeds video i see the little circle icon twirling round...like on wii when its connecting. Im probably barking up wrong tree here , but could the console be constantly checking the connection in the background? :/

Also has anyone got a definate confirmation on the size of the update yet? Ive heard 880mb , 1gb , and 5gb lol  which is it? (",)

#134641 Wii U 'Has A Horrible, Slow CPU' Says Metro Last Light Dev

Posted by reef7009 on 20 November 2012 - 11:36 AM in Wii U Hardware

Is this more unsubstantiated rubbish?? fed up of hearing it now!  Thats slow , this is slow! Im still gettin a wii u. Look at the snes....now that had slowdown with sprites on screen when to many...yet what a console it turned out to be. It was king. Water off a ducks back to me lol

#134648 Are the bricked Wii Us actually just on autopilot?

Posted by reef7009 on 20 November 2012 - 11:48 AM in Wii U Hardware

#134670 Wii U 'Has A Horrible, Slow CPU' Says Metro Last Light Dev

Posted by reef7009 on 20 November 2012 - 12:06 PM in Wii U Hardware

U see whats happening here? The issue with bricking is fading , being explained etc. Now we have this bcoz its the next best thing/excuse to damn the wii u. Dont believe a word of it.

#134675 You could download the day 1 update in the background all along...

Posted by reef7009 on 20 November 2012 - 12:11 PM in Wii U Hardware

Ahh the internet lol dont u just love it! Oh and now the bricking issue is resolved , some article has popped up about a slow cpu?! Lol utter rubbish! Il be picking up my pre orderded wii u on the 30th. Period

I dont know if anyone here has read the article on Nintendo Gamer : The Wii u is doomed!  Its a great article dismissing all these niggles about new consoles. Its very level headed in its approach and will put many of u at ease :) p.s  i couldnt seem to paste the link so google it....Nintendo Gamer The Wii u is doomed!

#135123 To brick or not to brick?

Posted by reef7009 on 20 November 2012 - 08:40 PM in Wii U Hardware

Now that we all have more info on why ben fritz ended up with a 'big black paperweight' as he put it...after turning the power off during the update i thought id try to get this cleared up : Will losing an internet connection ( NOT POWER ) damage the wii u?

During the update i mean lol

#135142 To brick or not to brick?

Posted by reef7009 on 20 November 2012 - 09:31 PM in Wii U Hardware

I see , yes thats what i was thinking...its the install part thats important...not losing power there? I thought id start this thread bcoz we are now hearing that u can download the update while u play games...so i wondered about losing connection without knowing in the background

#135229 To brick or not to brick?

Posted by reef7009 on 21 November 2012 - 03:12 AM in Wii U Hardware

literally just took my wii back to walmart because of this - they had just gotten some in about an hour ago, and they thankfully saved one for me...  gonna be very careful when i install the update tomorrow morning

Just to clarify markarro , did a power outage knacker your machine or losing internet connection?

#135233 shopto.net no longer show my package UK

#135546 To brick or not to brick?

Posted by reef7009 on 21 November 2012 - 01:31 PM in Wii U Hardware

For mine it was a power outage - the kids actually unplugged it from the wall to move to a different tv.  It was plugged in for at least six hours afterwards, and nothing happened at all, so I took it back and got a replacement

To bad about the kids unpluggin it. Parents beware! Hope ur replacement is all good now :) So u left it plugged in for a further 6 hours and nothing?...Does that de-bunk the stories that its in auto pilot then , on the black screen? And it IS actually Bricked?

Posted by reef7009 on 21 November 2012 - 02:12 PM in Wii U Hardware

In uk does it matter which order these updates get applied? I mean is it better for this to be added after the first big day one update to the OS?

Dont want to patch this before the big one do we? What im getting at is IF 'tendo release this patch before the 30th....??

#135765 Slow CPU Will Shorten Wii U's Life - DICE Dev

Posted by reef7009 on 21 November 2012 - 06:42 PM in Wii U Hardware

What next?? This is silly. ...We will be hearing about melting consoles , smoke , wii u's shaking themselves apart , radiation , the list of BS could go on and on! Its a GAMES MACHINE and a good one from all accounts. Why is there so much slagging off of wii u ? Surely it never used to be like this. Fed up
