Wii u is a beast.
Very powerful CPU. Extremely powerful gpu (both customized to be better for gaming than the stock setups), a ton of ram, and the architectural efficiency to make to whole much better than a sum of its parts.
The thing is powerful. The perfect machine to herald the arrival of next generation gaming.
Add to that the we gamepad, and Nintendo has just revolutionized the entire industry. Again.
The wii was Nintendo in survival mode. Amazing what they can do when they are backed against a wall.
The wii U is Nintendo doing exactly what they want with the resources they want. and the leverage to get great deals on their hardware.
That's how such a powerful system with such great capability is going to be priced at a decent number.
great time to be in the gaming industry. Whether a creator or a consumer. Mostly because Nintendo has never been this humble, open, and easy to work with.

Why are people expecting so much at launch for the Wii U, I honestly cant remember, what was 360s and PS3s launch like?

Cant say I've played many of those games, but were they really that great? Doesnt look like anything special (again havent really played many)

Again nothing that special.
So why are people expecting Zelda, SSB, Mario and all those games to be available, doesnt make much sense to be honest.
It takes a while for the best games to come out on a system so shut the Wii up and relax.
Also it is a bad marketing strategy to release a console with lots of good games, who has enough money to buy a $400-500 console and then spend another 400 on games? not many people thats why you ease games onto the console.

Also The Avengers for wii U... but I hope for ctOS.. I loved it!
ctOS a 100% not a 360 or ps3 game.. The engine the game runs, is away to modern for this consoles.. Watch the video again, and look at the rain, reflections, explosions, animation.. etc... textures!!
I was thinking the same thing, the reflections and textures were way to good for the 360 or ps3
