oh yeah!!! also 8xxxM or 7xxxM gpus... mobility (phones and laptops low consumption gpus)... that will make wii U a competitive console. If i am not wrong, wii U uses a standard gpu chipset, modified... not mobility

Spot on good sir spot on.I think that if anyone buys a Nintendo console for the technical specs may need to reconsider. Honestly, I think the Wii U is a next-generation console in every sense of the term "next generation". As already been stated, you cannot judge this console's potential on the launch games (especially any that are made by EA). I welcome the PS4/X720, because by then, we will see if the gap between Nintendo and its competitors is as great as people envision. It would also mean the end of ports of games made for the current generation's older architecture.
Even if there's a noticeable gap, is it worth paying an extra $100-150 for those systems? Not for me. If i was truly interested in the eye candy, I'd take that money and invest in a high performance graphics card for my PC. I buy consoles for the games either I can't get on the PC or prefer not to play on the PC.
I also remember a certain console that was constantly bragged by its maker regarding its technical specs. Between the specs and the Blu Ray drive, it was marketed (and priced) as a console ahead of its time accomplishing things its competitors cannot. How did that turn out?

Man soldering ic chips is a pain in the azz.I can take anything apart and put it back together.
Hell i solder to ic chips before. Legs smaller then a hair.
But yet i couldnt tell you crap about ram or cpus/gpus.
So thay doesnt mean they know anything.
Also i do kbow thay specs arent always fixed. New tech can.use.things of lower spec but still come out faster.
I know this for a fact. And have haf cellphone of lower clock speed out do other of higher.
Its jist all about what the chips inside.can do.

True but component cables were made for it.Gamestop is the only store i know of that sells em though. The Av cables that come with The Wii are not HD, I think they are 480

I've heard that some many times but it's still kinda funny.Internet Explorer and Dora are both Explorers yet it takes them twenty minutes to do a simple task.

What if it is the next Snes?I have to admit the cpu power worries me a little bit if the developer leaks are true that its underpowered in this regard. I realise the gpu can assist the cpu in the wii u but I would have liked the cpu to be at least as powerful as 360/PS3 as a bare minimum on its own without relying on gpu support. That said the super nintendo was a truly terrific console for its day and much better than megadrive and had far less cpu power. I think for the majority of games it won't matter and for multi-console owners like myself they will just buy the games that are best or exclusive to wii u.

Ha experience...I'm probably gonna refrain from trying it out, I'd like my first experience to be on my own console.

If it can run the Final Fantasy Luminous demo then i don't care about what it can't do.I have Reach, and 4 looks waaaaaaay better graphically.
But how do you know Wii U will be 3/4x this?
I think the Wii U should be able to achieve FF15 techdemo quality graphics, then I will be 100% sure it's a beast. But I doubt if even PS4/NextBox could do that.

Beautiful...just beautifulThe hilarious thing about this is I quoted the actual twitter feed, and provided a link to the whole ordeal, for everyone to see, how the entire event went down, and you have not provided diddly squat, except a bs pile of crap, that didnt even post the source to its information. Which I did by the way, I posted the twitter feed your article was talking about... And yet you say my argument has no basis in reality, mr cant post any evidence and constantly references 'leaks' with no source, and articles that were taken down because of misrepresentation. Right.
“We have a few Wii U devkits since quite some time. We even almost finished our first Wii U game. The kits exceeded our expectations in every way and we still learn how to get the best performance out of it. A good thing about Wii U is that it’s very easy to develop for. You don’t have so many limitations like on the other current gen platforms. For us the Wii U is the perfect platform with enough horsepower for many years to come. I think we currently only tapped 20% of its potential and our first game already looks and plays brilliant.”
German dev team Shin en. Yeah, thats right, thats a name of something that exists!
Oh, you dont HAVE any names for your 'secret leaks about low power?'
Oh, its a shame eurogamer lied about all the favourite articles you like, and the people with actual NAMES they interviewed demanded they apologized for misinterpretation like the Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada, who furiously called out gamespot and eurogamer over his twitter, and demanded they amend their articles and apologize, which they did, or the sonic racing team, who demanded the fake quote eurogamer used about wii u power be removed and eurogamer apologize (which they did). But that doesnt stop you does it? Dont let little things like that get in your way.
Like that even remotely has anything to do with p7 being the processor anyways. P7, like every other processor in the world, gets a certain amount of performance per watt. If you lower the power intake enough, even the 'mythical' p7 could be 'weaker' than the ps360 cpu's. Your idiotic arguments about percieved wii u power have nothing whatsoever to do with whether or not the wii u uses a power 7, the only reason I even bother with them is because they are complete crap, its like explaining that the sky is blue because its made of paint. Yeah the skys blue, but that doesnt matter the argument is wrong. I have NEVER said the wii u is super powerful because it uses a power 7, so quit trying to put words in my mouth, as you lack the finesse to properly perform such scams. So just stop.
There are only 2 chips in existance that ibm has that are made on a 45nm process. One is the successor of the chip used in the blue gene sequoia the worlds current fastest super computer, the ppc 476fp.... And the other is the one used in IBM's watson, the power 7 processor core.
THe 476fp core is 3.6 mm square. at Tricore, we are looking at about 11 mm square. Thats less than half the size of the cpu footprint shown in the picture, which you can easily compare to both the dimensions of the console handed out by Nintendo from the mother board shot, and the size of a human thumbnail from the up close shot. Either way you are looking at around 30mm square.
Its too big to be the only other chip ibm has in existance on a 45nm process thats not the p7 processor core. Either that or the wii u has like, an 8core ppc476 processor. I dont think thats very likely. It features, as stated in the interview, IBM's new high density edram technology, the only chip in existance that has this technology, is the p7 processor core.
Go on, look it up, ill wait. No really, actually research something for once, ill wait.
Good, youre done.
It looks like a duck, it walks like a duck, and it quacks.
Heres an idea dude, I have put down tons of hard facts. And all youve done is stomped your feet and repeated no like a five your old, and tried to put fake arguments in my mouth that I have never, EVER actually uttered, in an extremely poor attempt to make it look like you have anything to stand on. How about you put together some logic, and post a reality based argument on why it CANT be power 7, in your eyes.

Unless they open it and take stuff out.It includes the same items regardless of retailer. It's a standard pack from Nintendo.

And where did you hear this from good sur? There are also confirmations of wii u games having cpu demanding tasks that the 360/ps3 games didnt have.
Like how ninja gaidens limb removal physics were removed from ng3 on ps3/360 but are in on the wii version.

Now that sounds like a great idea.Does anyone know if they'll be some sort of "gamepad" symbol on the games in which support gamepad play?

Why does everyone keep ignoring you when you give factual evidence of it using p7?We know its power 7 because ibm flat out said it uses p7 processor cores.
1. With the original press release, defining characteristics that only p7 contains and relating it to watson, which is p7 based.
2. 3 seperate occasions over the past year, ibms official twitter feed, ibmwatson, has confirmed its using power 7 core processor chips.
power 7 is not some impossible super chip. That's people who don't know any better confusing watsons processor chips, the power 7, with watsons power 7 package, which is the number of cores, arrangement, and support components.
The watson power 7 package is an 8 core socket linked to 32 processor nodes, a bazillion times. Its a super computer package, the chips NOT a super computer.
The watson PACKAGE draws 200+ watts, not the p7 processor.
IBMWatson has repeatedly said over and over again the wii u has the same exact processor chips on the watson, the p7 processors, NOT the p7 super computer PACKAGE that watson has.
P7 is a low watt low heat high performance processor core. Its performance gains come from effecient architecture , advances in edram technology (edram power/performance and sram speed and latency) Its perfect for a games console.
That being said, the wii u will NOT be a powerhouse console. The simple fact of the matter is, its too damn small. Technology does not exist today that can pit the power some of the people in here are expecting in a case the of the dimensions Nintendo gave us, and not have 100% garunteed catastrophic failures in thermal dissipation.
ie the console would melt.

Oh god no too much money.Importing a console and games, not hacking.
Right, this is what i thought he mean at first.I'm pretty sure he is talking about ways to play imports on region locked systems...theyes would require hacking the system or Modding rather..to play.
