Once again...don't put much, if any salt in rumors unless it directly coincides with facts we know and things that're likely to happen.

Not having Origin as the system's main online service doesn't sound like a huge deal to me. It's Nintendo's system, and they should be the ones for the online. If EA wants to use Origin for their particular games, I don't see why Nintendo would have a problem with it.

Honestly, this just sounds like a rumor spread by somebody hell-bent on hating the Wii U.

Off course they haven't lost it. EA just announced Wii U specific features for their games.

I doubt there is any validity to this rumor since there are still quite a few games that EA has that haven't been announced for the Wii U, and they are bringing some really big games to the Wii U.

Be wary, the suck is coming.

haha absolute bull!! like literally!! a successful huge publisher like EA would never miss the chance to make big money off a console which they said they wanted to succeed just because nintendo didnt make their online system origin XD the ridiculousness is hilarious. u think EA isnt going to support xbox720 and ps4 when they reject origin too? lol it doesn't work like that. you can tell this is made up because it shows such a lack of understanding about how business works.

secondly remember that reggie said nintendo's online is going to be flexible, meaning all developers will be able to put their own online systems for their games. so basically if EA wants (and if nintendo is still going through with this original plan) they can put origin on wii u for all EA games

Wouldn't surprise me really. There was a lot of talk last year when the Origin rumours came out, that if Nintendo by some chance declined the offer that EA could react quite badly. Looks like that might have been exactly what happens.

I'm not too bothered really, EA hasn't been putting out the best of games for the past couple years. But losing third party support, however minor, is never a good thing. I still think Nintendo made the right choice here though, the idea of handing a large part of the online service over to another company seems kind of offputting...

This also gave props to Valve, who also loves the system and since they are hard at work for 5 games in the next three years next year they will show off games for Wii U, starting with a multiplat Left 4 Dead prequel announcement for Q1/Q2 2013. (rumored)

If true, i'm glad Nintendo didn't take that deal. There already messing up with madden 13 on the WiiU. No new physics engine and ultimate team make it just a complete waste of time and resources. Hopefully Fifa and Mass Effect aren't rainbowty ports. Wanted to support WiiU as much as i can, but i cannot buy an obvious inferior port of madden. Ill just buy it on the ps3.

No new physics engine in Madden Wii U makes me mad, but no ultimate team... Eh never really liked it in the first place, well on FIFA anyway, never actually tried the madden one.

I just find it stupid that EA would react like that, if the big 3 don't want Origins EA shouldn't act like a baby and say "no more support from us than!".

Nintendo made the right decision, no one in their right mind would let another company take over their console's online.

They're not saying "no more".
They're saying "You'll get the same crap as your competitors."
Meanwhile, ubisoft are making exclusives.

Personally, it fits the timeline of events, but I think that's because it was made that way.
Someone noticed all these events and made up a story to make it make sense, that made sense.
It could be true though.
Still a rumour either way.
Let me dream about 5 valve games and steamworks on a nintendo console! :'(

probably a guess as stated by nollog
EA is a strage company these days, jumping into any risky thing that could profit big time, instead of the normal approach of profit'ing off of old ideas
i would not expect them to drop out of a console because of a denied origin offer, perhaps they might be silly enough to downgrade wiiu titles but thats about it

in other news g4 is being a pretty big poot not talking about the wiiu while showing off games for it, somebody needs to replace that gaming channel before they get rich enough off of secret advertizing to rule the world

EA must be stupid and senile to think any of the systems would allow them to handle their digital space. Nintendo isn't dumb and I feel their online system will be great, and will only grow to become better. EA will still support the system I believe, if Nintendo NOT taking a liking to using origin really put them off then they wouldn't be developing for anyone since sony and microsoft wouldnt allow it either

It does seem kinda of true that EA would do this but Nintendo did make the right choice by not allowing EA to use Origin as there primary online system for the Wii U because EA could just put ads for Origin Anywhere saying oh use Origin on PC and play these EA titles and it would get annoying and they could also force all Wii U user to sign up for Origin and they would say oh the Number of Origin Subscribers have increase dramatically and use that as a way to boost their Popularity and basically exploit the Wii U for their own gain. So I think Nintendo did the right thing.
