"Nintendo president Satoru Iwata announced earlier today that the Wii U Plaza will be called WaraWara Plaza in the West. WaraWara is Japanese and translates to “bustling” in English. In the Plaza you can see what other fellow gamers are playing, as well as what gamers are talking about. Here’s all the information you need about MiiVerse from todays Nintendo Direct".

Thats weird....

"Today's Nintendo Direct's broadcast provided fresh details on Miiverse, the feature many have been waiting to hear more about. Dubbed the WaraWara Plaza in Japan, when you power-up the Wii U this is the first thing you'll see on the TV screen."

So they wanna use a Japanese name for the English version, and an English(ish) name for the Japanese version. Silly Nintendo!

Doesn't really matter to me what they call it. I am very happy with all the info we got this morning, even more excited now!

It's catchy, to say the least. I think it's the Japanese name though.

I have sold my Wii U, so if I deleted you from NN before I sold it, or haven't accepted your friend request since, this is why.

Nintendo of America confirmed the name as ''WaraWara Plaza'' in the latest Nintendo Direct on NOA's YouTube channel.

Btw, why didn't they just call it the ''Miiverse Plaza''?

The hell kind of a name is that...

This statement is false. The previous statement is true.

RIP in peace Nintendo.

I like it, it stands out along with being unique. Though I do wonder why they kept the Japanese name for the plaza.

A Japanese One

A weird Japanese one, it translates to "bustling"; well at least they didn't call it Bustling Plaza. Why they went with this name instead of just Mii Plaza or something I have no idea.

I'm repeating myself but Bill Trinen clearly said they kept it because a lot of people liked "Wara Wara Plaza" so that's why they kept the development name.

It only takes about a year of intense studying to become fluent in Japanese. :)

As much as Wara Wara sounds like a nice name, I'll probably stick with Miiverse plaza.

Pikachu is a Japanese name that literally means electric mouse and that doesn't sound weird to us now (: we'll be cool with this name.
