The batteries I put in were poundland (cheap) they leaked destroying the coil. I've learnt my lesson, never use cheap stuff :(

I really don't understand why they'd want to keep the E3 trailers from you in Europe. They are absolutely awesome, and it's not like you can't see them in 2D online, anyway. I hope you get them soon...
But hey, at least you guys get some Ocarina of Time pre-order bonuses actually worth pre-ordering for!
