Twilight Princess PAL is bordering on too blurry to play. And while I have it set to 480p and my TV confirms that it's outputting 480p, there's no way this is 480p.

apparently it's a known issue that the PAL version of Twilight Princess isn't actually outputting 480p even when it says it is (http://www.eurogamer.net/forum/thread/100870)

Strange.... The American version looks really good when running through component cables.

Don't know whether to be happy or sad about the console version of RE: Revelations Wii U preorder (Amazon) being $10 less than the other consoles

Contra what seems to be the preoccupation of a great number of today's gamers, Plato long ago realized that fascination with the grotesque and the titillating is not "mature," but a disorder.

I don't get it. Virtual Console for Wii U is kicking off soon but only NES and SNES are confirmed? Why wouldn't all games currently available on Wii VC be available on Wii U VC?

-
Nollog
of course.

Does the European Wii Shop ask you for billing address when you use a credit card to buy Wii Points??

i'd imagine so

Anyone know of a way to check current (3DS) eShop prices on the internet (i.e. using a computer rather than the console)?

I hate that importing stuff is so expensive. Why can't they just put all the languages in the game for us here in America like they do in Europe? Does it actually cost more?? Capcom was able to do it with RE: Revelations...

Anyone know if you have to have credit card from EU country to make a purchase from the EU eShop?

-
Nollog
I'd check, but it'd delete my current credit card details.
You'd probably be able to find eshop cards online.
I know when I had an American DSi I had to add my card as a Mexican due to the addresses, could be a similar problem but I dunno.

Hmmm ok. It is pretty clear from what I've seen online that foreign cards won't work on the US eShop, but I haven't found a straight answer about using a US card on the EU eShop. Still waiting for my EU 3DS to get here from Italy so I guess I'll find out soon enough...

the problem would be addresses, Nintendo did check the addresses back on the dsi/wii shopping channels, some shops are more particular than others about it.
Sometimes it's as simple as finding a country you're allowed to change your region to that has a similar address structure.

Capcom's website says that English, German, Italian, French, Spanish, and Japanese are all available for subtitles AND voices in Resident Evil: Revelations, but in the demo only English and Japanese are there for voices. Can anyone confirm that the lack of other languages is just on the demo?

-
Kokirii
Thanks, Gaymer! I wanted to get this for the German but hate subtitle-only options and wanted to make sure Audio would be available.

Yeah, I think it's cool they managed to fit all of those languages in that tiny cartridge. :D I listened to it in Spanish too.

Cool! And yes, I'm very impressed, especially because all the languages were included on the NA version and not just the EU. I wish more devs would do this.

Does anyone know if the European Wii U power cable supports multiple voltages (like 110 - 240 or something like that)?

-
Nollog
alternatively, buy a third party power adapter or buy a us one, the ports on the console are the same, just the voltages differ, which is handled by the transformer in the box from plug to plug.

Ok. I currently have the US version but am planning to sell it. If I keep the power cable I can just use that with the European console right?

Every time I sign in I check "Remember Me" but it never does and I still have to sign in manually every time...

Kokirii
I know that the part of the power cable that goes into the wall is different in different countries, but are the ports on the back of the Wii U the same in both Europe and North America? Wondering if I import a Wii U from Europe if I can use an American power cable with it.

-
Nollog
I believe so.

What the hell is Gamespot's problem? They seem to just hate Nintendo. Their reviews of Nintendo games, even high profile ones that seem to be well-liked by pretty much everyone else, are consistently lower. IGN gave Dark Moon a 9.3 and Gamespot gave it a 6.5??? Give me a break!

-

Gaymer
At the end of the day, it is just their opinion. Should it really bother you? As long as you enjoy the game, it shouldn't be such a big deal.

Should I get Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story (DS) or Paper Mario: Sticker Star (3DS)?

-
-
-
Hank Hill
Yeah, Bowser's Inside Story should be better. Paper Mario was...literally just the husk of a true paper mario title.
