I don't see a reason to upgrade to XL if you have a 3DS really. It's just a bigger screen and 3 hour longer batterylife. Neat, but nothing too special. Also, the resolution would be a mother dog.

^Actually from what I hear the difference in battery life is really just a half an hour. According to the 3DS blog the battery for the XL is 3.5 - 6.5 hours, compared to the 3DS's 3 - 6 hours.

Well yes that is partly true. I looked it up: http://nintendoeverything.com/92239/3ds-xl-battery-life-detailed/ 3DS life is in fact 3-5 hours, so maximum change from the XL is 1.5 hours, minimum change is 0.5 hours. Playing DS games, maximum change is 2 hours, minimum change is 1.
