Which is why I roll my eyes whenever idiot children try and talk crap about how 'bad' jrpgs compared to wrpg's, as they are a direct homage to wrpg's that blow the crap they are bragging about today out of the water.

it's pretty sad CoD is still using idtech3. An engine from 1999 that Quake III used even on Dreamcast. I't been shined up and added bandaids since. Wolfenstien newest one using idtech5.

This is a lie. Idtech3's last game Quake Live in 2010, it powered the first three CoD's however.
Advanced Warfare is being made with an in-house engine.

The IW and MW Engines are still idtech3 just modified. CoD Ghosts still used it they just called it IW6

that's partially why the games turn out so fast they're on a template
they're a revolving door of assets
not features.
their idea of adding a feature is making a couple lines in the fish objects so it avoids the player.
like seriously
if DistancetoPlayer<x then move away from player isn't hard, especially with fish who are in water and don't need path finding.
