I recently tried out 3DS Max... *Disappointed face* If you're going to make something that expensive, at least make sure it's a lot more functional than other available FREE software...

They normally do that kind of thing actually, they just want to give people a taste of what the program can do. The free version of unity do not have all the features of the pro version.

Still, it's not hard to achieve proffesional looking stuff in Blender, and it's an infinite times less expensive.

That is true, only big companies can afford it. (students in college can get a free copy of 3ds max student edition with proof)
