It'll probably be a while, unless they have a studio other than Retro working on it, in which case it might not be worth the wait.

Retro said they had a choice between Metroid and DKC to make a game out of, they wasn't finished with DKC series so they made another game, with the new characters and features coming into this game (and fur) I'd say they're pretty much done with the series, there next game will most likely be a Metroid game. SO look forward to that.
