My friend's save on his New Leaf got corrupted yesterday. A game that he has put a thousand hours into... Luckily we had a back up of his save on the SD card from June 17th... He lost almost two months of progress... But it was better than nothing. Still sucked for him.

But you can buy another battery if that's what is wrong.

I'm not buying a new battery in case it is another issue. I'm going to send it to nintendo for a repair

I'm glad your friend didn't lose all his save data. I couldn't think of anything worse than losing all that progress.
