I'm confused, Was it Mew or Meowth who was going to be playable in SSB64?

Nollog, Meowth was going to be a playable character, due to the development time they had, they could not implement him into the game.

I heard in DYKG that Mew and Mewtwo were going to be playable in SSB, but on another site( i forgot where) that Meowth was going to be playable.
