How does that work? I mean, can I use the Wii downloads on a Wii U in Wii mode? Does it give you a download code or something?

I use them on my Wii U. They give you a download code, you go to the Wii shop and enter the code. And for 3DS games you enter the code on the 3DS eshop! :)
