And the worst part is that it actually made me sad, I laughed about it though that Nintendo can make me feel for a game character.

Gaymer, they are only notified if he talked to her, if they haven't talked to her in 4-5 days or so then they just move out without you even knowing.

I'm assuming he plays every day and doesn't time travel. If not, then it's easy for a villager to leave. Also, you don't need to talk to the villager leaving in order for everyone else to know. All of the other villagers will talk about the villager leaving, asking you if it's a rumor or not.
