"far, far, /far/ from the "latest" version of the Bible. It came out in the 1970s. That's like 45 years old." We're talking about a book thousands of years old, NIV won't make many differences between that and the latest version compared to NIV and the first version.

You'd be surprised. I've read some of the actual new versions, and compared to NIV, there is a much bigger difference.

There's a reason for it as well btw. NIV is essentially literally just replacing the older language with newer language. Same meaning, different words. Newer versions have taken whole passages and tried to change the whole structures of them to make them more "understandable".
