My original 3DS has 2 vertical lines that were caused by the edge of the touch screen bezel making contact with the top screen.

Yeah I avoided the vertical lines because I had heard about them before getting a 3DS and added some makeshift bumpers but one of them came off so now I have one vertical line. Nothing broke on it though. It's an "ambassador" too. Anyway the 3DS also hurt my hands while playing Mario Kart.
