Seems like fans took to Capcom’s community forums to express their discontent with the fact Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate would not support “off-TV play” on the Wii U Gamepad or “cross-region play” between territories when playing online. As a result, Capcom has agreed to implement both features via an update that will release sometime in April, a month after the game’s release in both North America (March 19) and Europe (March 22). A Capcom employee had this to say:
“We’re working on a software update to add Cross-Region online and Off-TV play for the Wii U version of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate! (thanks to community feedback!)
Said update will come post-launch (sometime in April) and it will merge both North American and European servers into one big network for all western hunters out there. This is happening solely because you communicated your thoughts very loud and clear – and it made sense ”
Also to be noted, there will be free DLC quests made available at launch and nearly every week thereafter for some time. Capcom seems to be delivering the goods on this one and these changes are welcomed. Talk about listening to your fans and implementing what they want ASAP?! Do these features help you decide whether or not to purchase the game? Or were you getting it regardless? Off-tv play is a big feature for me as I hardly use my TV when playing my Wii U anyway.
