I just think having Wii U associated with the Wii was the worst mistake they could have made. Just because your previous console was a commercial success, doesn't mean it was a success among gamers. I mean it pissed a lot of people off.
If it was the Nintendo Revolution. You'd have taken away that connotation with lack of third party, shovel-ware and gathering dust away. Plus people would definitely know it was a new console, instead of an expensive accessory to your current Wii console.
